Tourney 2 table tourney with only 500 chips (2 Viewers)

Hello All!

I mostly host a max 9-10 person, 1-table poker tourney.

now I was wondering for a special occasion I would like to do a 2 table game.

But I only have 500 chips. So it got me thinking, is it possible to host a 2-table tourney?

So I came up with this :

This will be a max 16 players, 2-table tourney. With No Rebuys.

My set consists of

120 * 25
120 * 100
80 * 500
80 * 1000
80 * 5.000
10 * 10.000

and 10 other random chips, but they won't be used.

with 16 players it would be a starting stack of

7 * 100
5 * 500
5 * 1000
5 * 5000
( leaving out the 25s so I can start the blinds at 100/100 going up to 100/200 and so on)

This leaves a total of 33200. I know it is a weird number to start with. But I don't think it will be a problem. Right? Normally with this blind structure, I use a 30K starting stack. so this one comes close.

this leaves over 8 * 100 ( what should I do with them? )

for 15 players it would be a 33300 starting stack since I have 1 more 100 chip a person

going down in players. increases the stacks a little.

Do you have any advice or experience doing this type of No rebuy tournament?

In the future, I will upgrade to more chips, but it is currently impossible.

Just run 15-player-max tournaments with your 120/120/80/80/80 set.

Use T25-base 10k starting stacks (11 x 8/8/4/7, 1 x 8/8/12/3, 3 x 8/8/8/0/1) with 25/50 opening blinds (200bb), using T5000 chips for all color-ups. All 400 of your four lowest denomination chips (plus 3x T5000s) are in play immediately with this configuration.

You simply do not have enough chips in this set to support 16 players, using either T25- or T100-base. Rather than make 16 players suffer with poor game play, just accomodate (up to) 15 players adequately.... or acquire more chips.

Starting a tournament with an odd stack like 33,200 isn't so much the issue here, but the fact you have only 80 T1000 chips is super constraining. You are setting yourself up for a change making nightmare in the mid/late stages if you think you are putting 5 T5000 chips per player in play when you can at most put only 5 T1000 chips in play per player.

In your first four denominations you have a total 135K. Dividing that by your desired field size of 16 tells me the biggest starting stack you should be considering is T8K to efficiently use the T1000s that you have.

To do 16 stacks you would plan this
12*8/8/6/4
2*8/8/2/6
2*4/4/1/7

(Or alternatively, 15 perfectly matched stacks of 8/8/4/5, and the 16th player gets 0/0/6/5.)

But there just isn't a setup with this set where you can issue more than 5 T1000 per player in a starting stack, meaning you really shouldn't be issuing any T5000s in a starting stack since there wouldn't be enough change to go around. I would only be introducing T5000s in play from re-entries (if you decide to allow them you would need no more than 13-14 in play for this assuming a 50% re-entry rate), and for color ups (probably 5-6 needed if you do 2 color ups on T25 and T100). The number of T1000s in play can probably handle that, especially once stacks start consolidating in the later stages.

So to make use of what you have, I think T8K starting stack base T25 tournament is your best bet. In future, I think you need to add at least 40 more T1000 chips to open more possibilities.

I think if he put one 4/4/x/x stack on each table, it would work out just fine.
