Picture below of an original Gambler's Pleasure $1 and a re-labeled one that Chris replaced. Perfect. Can you tell the difference?

Ok, another time to man crush @Gear!

Let me tell you again that Chris at Gear Labels does phenomenal work on customs labels and replacement.

I gave Gear around 2 full racks of chips to take off the original labels and replace them with my sets. Le Cove, and Gambler's Pleasure.

I gave him 151 of the Casino de Mexico chips 10's to turn into .25 cent Le Coves when we both attended the Rumble in the Rockies.

Below is my entire lot of quarters that @Gear completed for me.

Kick ass!

I also provided him with some single "Sporting Chips" to turn into Gambler's Pleasure. Again the work is outstanding.

Can you really tell the difference between the original Gambler's Pleasure and the re-labeled ones?.....Probably not and with these mixed in with the originals you would not.

Pictures below of orginals and re-labeled chips:

He also made up some Gambler's Pleasure $5000 chips for me. These do not exist in the original set. Beautiful chocolate chips. These were Crystal Park 10's. And I am still looking for a rack of these to add to the set.

What else can I say about Chris. The guy is awesome to work with, great guy to talk and play cards with and he really has a top notch business with his custom labels.

Thank you again Chris for your superior work. I cannot wait to put these on play!

Take care and thanks for looking! (y)

I like them and that is all that counts.

Says the man who paints a 61 Ferrari Spyder bright pink with purple polka dots, adds matching underbody LED's, and installs TV's in the headrests.

Seriously, though, they're your chips and you do what you want with them.

I will. And I do not own a Ferrari and if I did I sure would repaint it if was rainbow colored.

Permanently vandalizing real casino chips to create fictional chips for a fantasy set just seems....wrong.

I've done it, but by using labels so that the underlying chip is not damaged.

What does a rack of those CP 10s go for? The 20s are about 1000-1200 a rack. It just seems a huge price to pay. The other re-purposed climbing chips were fantasy for fantasy and not particularly cost prohibitive...a great solution IMO. The Mexicos were also fantasy chips and a good choice.

You know, I'm pretty noob-ish when it comes to chips. However, I also know there are a few chips out there with some value. Some worth pennies, some worth several 10's of dollars each.

But ultimately, if anyone pays for something, they own it. They can bloody well do what they want with it. It's not really any of our concern. Did you help pay for them? NO. Did you loan him/her the money? NO. You don't have a say in why they do with their property. END OF!

BTW nice looking labels from @Gear !

I agree with the sentiment. But here's the reality, we're hobbyists, right? If you went to a reef aquarium forum and a guy bought an huge tank and expensive setup and threw in two clownfish, from Walmart, people would give him crap for it. How about a car enthusiast forum, guy buys a classic car, one of maybe 1 thousand in existence, and proceeds to rip out the dash and seats and replaces them with those from a 2002 Hyundai. People are going to give him crap about it.

Yes, in all those examples, and the one I mentioned earlier, AND @Kyle with his CP's, it's the buyer's money and he's within his rights to do what he pleases. I'm not saying he should be banned or ostracized, hell no. But should he expect us to needle him about it? Hell yeah.

Le Cove green quarters rock !

My very poor englush doesnt allow me talking about the CP $ 10' controversy

All a matter of opinion I guess. You compare my Gambler's Pleasure set to a Hyundai. Whatever. Crystal Park chips to me are like Mazda Miatas. I'll never own one.

I look at it like a coverted Camaro to a New custom Trans Am. Not available but can be made do.

You can say this pisses off true Camero enthusiasts. But in the end it still kicks ass. Screw the ones who will bad mouth it.

I disagree. I look at it like a coverted Camaro to a New custom Trans Am. Not available but can be made do.

Emphasis mine...

I wasn't doing either of those two things. The Hyundai comment was just an analogy. I'm not sure what I said that you perceive as bad mouth-ing, but I'm not sure disagreeing with you qualifies.

Those replaced-inlay $10 Crystal Parks will never be part of a real Crystal Park casino set, no matter how much love or money the potential owner/hobbyist/collector might have. It might be different if there were thousands of them laying around just collecting dust, but there aren't. And now there are even fewer.

Yeah, you paid for 'em and they are yours to do whatever stupid shit you want with them, including grinding them up into dust..... but I wouldn't sell you a rack of 'em for any amount of money, and I hope nobody else does, either..

Hey, why are you so hostile? I am keeping these and not selling them either. You can say that about any chip that gets re-labeled and the other chips I did get re-labeled (Casino de Mexico, Sporting and Good Luck Club.) If I find a rack and buy it, I will do what I please with it. And I am keeping all of them.

With this type of hostility I wouldn't want to purchase anything from you either.

Boggles the mind when people feel it necessary to slam others for doing what they want with their money.

Everyone is entitled to both their opinons and what they do with their paychecks.

Hey, why are you so hostile?

Because it's so gross that you ruined/destroyed a chip that is so rare and desirable by putting such a generic and relatively plain/boring label. Insult to injury is that it can never go back to the way it was before.

But hey, your chips and whatever.

It's weird that Gear said he would never mill a horseshoe $25k chip but has no problem shredding these.
