Had my Aruba Palm Beach chips out today to see how they'd look with some white spotted starbursts I just picked up (to be relabeled as $1 chips). Enjoy!

What an awesome set!! I love the Arubas as well. Just curious...does anyone know if there is a reason to the jagged edgespots on all the chips? I know they arent supposed to be perfect but the whole Aruba line of chips seem to be made this way and I dont recall any other casinos with this effect. It's not a negative by any means but just an observation.

I never really looked closely at them until you pointed that out. I pulled out my other casino sets (PCA secondaries, Highway 9 and Casablanca chips) to compare. They all have some jagged edge spots, but I would certainly agree that the Arubas have quite a bit more. They also tend to have a slightly less smooth edge (see the rolling edge of the $25 chips in pictures 3 and 4), almost like tool marks from when they were machined into their final diameter (assuming that's how it's done, not sure to be honest). Again, none of this really takes away from the set as while as the rolling edges don't feel rough, and you have to blow up the pictures like I did to really notice it (unless you're looking for it). I would say it's all part of the chips' character :)

Very, very nice!

What he said! Those $1's are going to be really awesome in this set.

The answer is: pretty god damn good.

love aruba, the inlay is the best

Thanks!

I was initially a little concerned about whether the new spotted white starbursts were going to work well with the set as (relabeled) $1 chips, but the more I look at them together with the rest of the chips, the more I think it should work out nicely. I had been looking for a suitable chip to relabel into a $1 chip, ideally a hot stamp that could be somewhat easily milled to take a laminated label. I was close to using a couple racks of Pointe Defiance chips, but their condition wasn't really consistent with the rest of the APB chips. Plus, I felt bad destroying something that I know is in somewhat short supply and felt they would be better off remaining in tact as PD chips. Assuming he hasn't milled them, I believe they found a good home with @ovo :)

I can't imaging a better fitting 1 chip. It is perfect. You win.

I've always really liked that color combination on the white starbursts and I think they go perfectly with the rest of the set. (y)

They're kind of a cross between my PCA secondaries (414 spots, with green and gold spots) and the Monte Carlo $1 chips I previously used as a $1 chip with this set (which have a similar color redish-brown spot).

Nice set ! A long time ago I also had a set with 150 $5, 150 $25 (brown & light blue spots) and 100 $100 (blue spots). I also add a rack os Scandia $500 to complete the set. One day I have decided to sell and now I know it was a big mistake... The $1 is match perfectly (y).

Great set... always loved the Arubas, especially the 5s and 25s
The 1s make a great addition

Oh wow. Nice set. The starbursts fit perfectly.

Thanks! I'm glad everyone seems to like the way the white spotted starbursts go with the rest of the set. Hopefully once they're relabeled, they'll look like they belonged in the set from the beginning.

I've actually used a couple racks of Scandia $1 chips in the past with this set in the past (in addition to the Monte Carlo $1 chips I mentioned earlier). Hopefully these new chips will become a more permanent solution to play the role of the APB $1 chip :)

Which one of the $25 do you prefer ? Same question with the $100 ?
I saw on Chipguide that the original $1 was light blue without spots (but I have never seen a set with this low denom).
Also I have always seen the $5 that you have even if there is another kind.

I'm torn on my preference for $25 chips. I think without consideration to the rest of the set, I slightly prefer the lighter green ones, but not by a large margin. For the $100 chips, I prefer the orange/blue/brown spots overall. However, for this set, the most important thing is how well the $1, $5 and $25 go together since they are the chips that will actually be on the felt. The $100 chips are less important in the sense that I've never had to put one in play. That said, I have very slight concerns about the darker green chip being less discernible from the $100 chips than the lighter green chips.

I've never seen a $1 APB, aside from the one on Chipguide. I have a rack of similar blue solids that I was going to relabel into $1 chips, but I prefer a non-solid chips for a $1 chip in general

There are other $5 chips out there, a few people on here have at least a few racks, though they're not in as good condition as the rest of the APB chips.

Wow ! Thanks for the sharing : those $5 are also very nice. I love them all. And the "textured" (don't know if it's the right word) shaped inlay is great : nowadays we don't such a thing very often.

Love those darker green 25s. Would buy Em in a heartbeat

I like the OP $1s, but imo, the new 314-spotted chips match up much better with the rest of the set. So where are the new shaped-inlay $500s? ;)

That was my overall feeling regarding the $1 chips. Nothing wrong with the original $1 chips I picked out, but I liked the 314 spots better (and I thoughts the colors worked a little better as well). Plus, they didn't need to be milled, so that was a plus. Don't get me wrong, removing Paulson inlays is no picnic, but the end result is worth it.

Might do that down the road. Right now I'm just giving others a chance to get some @Gear services; It would be selfish to try and monopolize all of his time.

You are the king of relabeled sets! Each of these relabels that you do are just epic!
