What was icons ?
ICON Poker, maker of some of the most craptastic casino chip on the market, cheap, poor QC, slick as $#1+, but cheap and advertised as more durable than clay, but that is questionable....

People in charge of buying chips for casinos don't care about chip quality and are not chip collectors. :)

I love the internet. I just want to keep reading posts where people point out where Apache went wrong in his sales pitch; you know the guy with the business and the capital and a previous purchase history from Paulson that can't get chips made for the home market. I mean, I'm sure he just didn't explain it well enough.

Excellent! But bottom line matters and cheaper is sometimes more important! I’m sure there pitching them on they will last forever! Never have to buy them again , can wash them easily all the security features lol

But we know Paulsons last for millions of years even after being on fire or sitting In a river !

My apologies @Apache. Sometimes I get a little carried away when thinking about something, especially something that’s new to me. It’s probably better if I keep my mouth shut. This past and future customer appreciates what you do! Thanks

yea I think I could make a cash and tournament set from all the lines lol. Man big regret not getting nps. Had them in my cart but didn’t pull the trigger on a 1000 piece set. At the time couldn’t justify the price :)

You, and everyone else I'm sure, know that if GPI started re releasing fantasy sets they'd put it on RHC or Paulson molds instead of THC. Not for any actual good reason, just because they are idiots.
Going back to your first post, RHC never enter my imagination.

I wonder if they would listen to this pitch:

Hey GPI, you still have the molds for all of the older home game chips: Viva Las Vegas, Fabulous Las Vegas, CDI, etc. Would you consider bringing these chips back into production if we could guarantee pre-sales?

This would mitigate their concerns about security since the home game chips already exist. It would also be easier for them to bring these back since they already have the molds.
My first thought was, "hey, this guy is new and just doesn't know any better" but you do have a point even though you used the wrong wording. Still, it won't happen & if it ever did it would be on a mold that they don't use for casinos like the "Paulson chips" mold or maybe something new & not on either the THC, RHC or even IHC molds.

The mold is what makes it THC or RHC or House mold or whatever. All of those chips you mention are on the THC mold with different inserts (edge spots) and different inlays (label/sticker pressed in)

It has been asked and asked so many times and the answer always comes back with a resounding "NO" and that is why those of us that have been around for a while will keep answering this type of question the same way.

Pretty sure the odds of them ever doing it on THC are about almost exactly what they are for RHC and that is extremely close to 0%.

The overall size of the home market where people are willing to spend > $1/chip is extremely small, like <1% or maybe even <.1% of their overall business. This and other reasons like security etc just make to so it isn't reasonable to expect that they make a change in policy.

Cpc seems to be doing pretty well at 1.70 plus for customs ? So I’d say that figure is more than you’d imagine. More than 60% of custom sets I’ve seen the chips avg price seem to be $2 to $2.50 at least

Number of people buying CPC is VERY small in comparison to home game poker chip market and compared to the business theybdo with casinos. CPC is a small operation.

I wouldn’t bet on it. Icon is really cutting into their bottom line. There hurting after the Covid year ( yea still lots of money but no where near pre pandemic level )

I think a more likely scenario is that GPI figures out what Icon does and destroys them. Guarantee that’s what they are working on. All the little security bells and whistles.

Icon I’m sure has those trademarked or patents on them so won’t be to soon . I hate ceramics and plastics.
