Pretty brazen pricing for a cheap 50mm button that cost $4. Anybody know this joker?

To be fair, the seller is in Williamsburg, so it's probably an artisan button handcrafted by monks who have listened to nothing but Bon Iver and Animal Collective for the last five years. Somebody's gotta pay for their beard oil.

He posted on CT: http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/chiptalk-classifieds/le-paulson-noir-dealer-button.504/

My response, for those who may be banned over there...

"Shit, $50+$6 shipping? I really try to avoid crapping on other people's sales, but I could get 10 of them made new for cheaper..."

EDIT: BTW, I'll do the art for anybody who wants one, for free. EDIT AGAIN: Messed up and forgot that this is a classic J5 design, which I won't touch.

Yeah, gotta agree that copying the artwork without permission is not a good idea.....

The price is ridiculous, but please don't.

Sorry about that. It slipped my mind that it was your art despite them being stock chips. I'm guessing even you couldn't get them produced at this point though (without involving Sidepot), which is unfortunate. :(

You laughed, you balked, you scoffed.

And now there's TWO separate bids on the dealer button!

I gotta go dig up some dealer buttons to sell...

Wow, I was going to post that I am in search of an Outpost San Remo button but it seems that the price on buttons is going up.

I'm guessing that the bidders think the chips shown in this auction photo are also included:

Not that I'd pay $50+ for all those, but it's the only thing that makes any kind of sense......

This is pure absurdity. By the way, if you haven't read jbutler's rating on CT, you should. It gave me a laugh.

The auction descriptin says:

(For the avoidance of doubt, this auction is for one dealer button and will not include any poker chips)

1hr 49mins to go, and 2 more tidbits:
- there was a third bidder who retracted a bid of $71
- the current top bidder plopped down a higher maximum price to guarantee victory

Just kidding of course. Hey someone really wanted it and had plenty of money to throw at it.

damn.....

i think i'll sell a few things out of the collection and buy that maserati i've always wanted.....

The more fiscally sound approach would be to get ten of them made for $40 and sell 'em for a grand. Then ship the moniez to J5.

OMG...... I just read that the infamous $119 dealer button on eBay isn't a Le Paulson Noir button at all. According to HomePokerTourney, this is a Venerati button:

DISCLAIMER: Not responsible for errors or non-factual report account on that or any other web site. The button clearly matches the Le Paulson Noir artwork in my opinion, but apparently not to everybody's eye. Still not worth $119 to me.

Originally sold by SidePot for $9 (following a CT group buy for 15 buttons total at the same price):

According to the original site it is the correct one...

I'm still in disbelief. You could get a hand painted version and still have enough left over for a dinner for 4 in Williamsburg for that price
