I'm starting home games and am interested in setting up tables for camp or other people's apartments and believe the Barrington tables look too heavy/difficult to move. I was thinking instead if it was possible to get a portable poker table by getting a "rail" on it's own and a separate table topper (and perhaps a folding board of a sort to put under the ensemble to support it over a friend's table or a slightly shorter table, though I'm not sure if it's necessary or possible without.)

I've been looking for a portable solution and saw there were 6mm PCF table toppers that may go on group sale now and then. Will this actually happen soon or should I just buy one off of Amazon?

Are there any portable "rail" set ups?

Thanks for any help.

If you want rails you will need a barrington + they make bags to help carry them.

But all you need is a topper like you mentioned and u can turn any table into a poker table.

Railing is unnecessary for your purpose tbh

A tri fold topper may be what you are looking for. You can place it on a folding table. Pretty portable. But for the price, I would go with a standard Barrington from Walmart, and a bag to make it easier to transport. It will be about the same size unfolded.

If you want the most portable, just get a nice roll out topper and roll it out onto a folding table or dinningroom table.

It is true that I don't need a rail, I thought it just looked handy or like it could be a part of a portable system. If I'm going to get a mat, might as well go all the way.

This amazon link looks great, thanks. Too bad there aren't any reviews!

After searching a little more, the tri fold looks like it falls apart easily and doesn't fold well. I'm looking around for octagon shaped tables for home and will probably play on the floor when there's nothing better.

The tri folds are not the best quality for the long run. I have one I picked up on FB Marketplace awhile back for $20 bucks or so. It works well for an emergency extra table every now and then. I definitely wouldn't pay anywhere close to current Amazon prices for one.
