If I were to add 100 more chips to this breakdown, which denomination count should I be adding to?
Do I add a 5k denomination?

(8-10 players with potential rebuys)

400 chips:
$25 x 120 =3000
$100 x 120 =12000
$500 x 100 =50000
$1000 x 60 =60000

10 players: 10k starting stacks (400 chips)
12x 25 = 300 12x10 = 120
12x 100 = 1200 12x10 = 120
7 x500 = 3500 7x10 = 70 -> 100
5 x1000 = 5000 5x10 = 50 of 60

Do I even need the extra 100 chips?

I would probably go to 60x 500s, 80x 1k, and 20x 5k.

Gives you some extra room for color ups, rebuys, etc.

Do 12, 12, 5, 6 for buy-ins.

If you go to 500 chips, I'd probably go something like this. Although I you'd be fine with the previous for a 10 player T10k starting tournament.

120x 25
120x 100
100x 500
120x 1k
40x 5k

You could scale that set to two tables with another rack of 100s and 25s.

I think the answer is dependent on if you expect allow rebuys/add-ons and if you ever see occasionally running two table tournaments.

Thanks for your advice.

Optimum efficiency/playability 10-player T25-base 10k-stack (12/12/5/6) chip set would be these 375 chips:

120 x T25
120 x T100
50 x T500
75 x T1000 (15x for T25/T100 color-ups)
5 x T5000 (for T500 color-ups)

So your set could use another 20 chips (15x T1000s and 5x T5000s) for color-ups. You already have twice as many T500s as you need. Any other chips added to the set should be T5000s, allowing more flexibility for re-buys and/or larger starting stacks (up to 25k).
