100 X $25 Pick Hobson TRKs

Mint condition. I sent them through the ultrasonic cleaner for 60 seconds, and lightly oiled them. They obviously didn't need it because they are new, but I couldn't help myself.

$300 plus shipping. -- price reduced

Classic! How did you apply oil on them?

Although I am a fan of the oil in water method, for these, I just picked up one barrel at a time, applied a coat of oil to the rolling edge, and let them sit over night. Then, I wiped each chip, one by one, to get any excess oil off.

I'm oiling some of my keeper sets right now, and using a more extensive oiling process.

But like I said, I just wanted to lightly oil these Pick Hobson's to bring out the color. They look fantastic!

Man, the more chips that pass through my hands, the deeper I fall in love with TRK. While I am quite certain these chips are brand new, because they were chalky when I got them -- seriously, it's so hard to tell new TRK from used. They wear *so* incredibly well. The flea bite thing just doesn't happen, and I *love* that fact. Nothing ruins a set for me faster than flea bites. This fact makes TRK much more preferable to me than any other chip. If you build a nice set of TRKs, I bet you could play them your entire life at your home games, and they'd still be "like new".

I have some Paulson sets that I love. But for those, it's more about the colors and inlays. For chip mold and chip wear, I just think TRK is the clear winner - not even close.

Ya, the difference is huge in my opinion. TRKs are a big step up from Paulsons. I've read a few members here saying that they "tried" TRK but just didn't like them, which is mind boggling to me. I think they must have gotten their hands on some pretty warn sets like the Jesse Becks or something like that. I can't imagine a chipper getting their hands on a set of Pick Hobson chips and walking away with the impression that they were somehow inferior to Paulsons.

That said, Paulson sure does make some pretty nice chips too :)

I think Paulsons were my first loves, which doesn't help, and I did have some Jessie Becks that made me forget that chips came with sharp edges haha. I'll let you convince me to love them again when you host with your Mapes or Pick Hobsons hahaha

I really want to get a set of TR King chips for the collection, but a single rack is not a good start. If you were to sweeten the deal with more chips, and a discount on the per chip price, I would have to raid the bank account. However tempting this is, I gotta say

GLWS, sigh.....

This is a very good price already. I think a single rack is a good start for an expensive set of chips. Get this rack now and get the $5s later. I know of one chipper who might have a rack or two of $5s to sell, if he is still wanting to sell. I'd go with the Nevada Lodge $1s, too, and they are relatively easier to get.

Spinetti's had the $5s in mint condition last time I checked. At a good price too.

For Minty TRK, these would be pretty tough to beat.

Give Mikko at Spinetti's a call and secure those $5s. Tell him Mel sent you (no, I don't get a commission, haha).

If these don't sell soon, I might just give Mikko a shout out myself, and get a couple racks of $5s to go with these. Darn good value.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. And yes, these are priced to sell. Don't ask Mikko about the $25s...you will want to buy those from me. :)

For anyone curious, the Pick Hobson $5s are some of the best chips I've ever put my hands on, in my opinion. They are INCREDIBLE! These chips are all perfectly flat, and the colors are outrageous! Plus, I just love the inlays. If you're on the fence about putting together a set of TRKs, I think Pick Hobson's are a fantastic choice. I would sell my Mapes before I'd sell my Pick Hobson's. Plus, those quarter pie red, white, and blue $100s are SICK SICK SICK. And they're only $8 each, so a barrel of hundos isn't gonna kill you - unlike other sets. If you're looking for an introduction to TRKs... look no further! BUY MEL'S CHIPS!!!!

And now... the pr0n...

$300 is a great price for mint $25s. They are at $4 per chip through Spinettis currently.
