New-ish to the table, I've played one memorable hand in the first couple orbits. The first hand I got when I sat I 3-bet to $65 over a $20 raise, got two callers, c-bet the flop for $160 and took it down.

Now I've picked up KQss in MP. Raise to $20. One caller, older guy with about $1100 (buy-in is capped at $500). I have about $650.

Flop ($47): AJTr

That'll work. He checks I bet $25 he calls.

Turn ($97): 7c putting two clubs on board.

He checks I bet $70 he calls.

River ($237): Tc

He thinks for about fifteen seconds and checks.

My play?

Much more comfortable with the T pairing than the A or J. Also feel like he's leading/ check raising before the river with two pair as he doesn't want a cheap K or Q to fall. I'd bet about $175 expecting to get value from AK-AJ, KT,QT. Folding to most check raises.

Just noticed the BDFD got there. Not very concerned. Bet fold spot. Is the A on flop the lone club? That would make a huge difference.

Older guy showed no aggression the whole way. I wouldn't say it's impossible for him to have had two pair or a set, but if so, he's being very discreet. Flat-call, check-call, check-call on that board, absent any other reads, does not scream strength. Making the flush on the end and checking would be weird too, and same thing with the full house. But I could see some unimproved big aces and maybe QT/KT taking that line. I think we have to try to squeeze a little bit more value out of this hand.

Bet a straight $100 here, with the intention of folding to a significant raise.

Meh okay maybe not a close decision after all. Anticlimactic thread.

I bet $110 he called and I was good. He flashed an ace inadvertently as he was mucking but I didn't see the other card.

Depending on the villain, I might even want a pinch of value in this spot with as little as AK. The line he's taken seems pretty transparent: "I have a reasonable hand, but it has little value except as a bluff catcher." On this particular board, that's basically a bare ace and nothing else.

Half pot is good. It is error for him to check a better hand, so you should be good. Fold if check raised.
