So I have 2 different chipco ceramic chips, and they feel completely different. The club chip feels smooth and silky. The hard rock is still smooth but not like the other. So my question is why????also are there chipco blanks still available for custom sets? If so which one of these chips would have the feel of the blanks???

The original Chipco blanks were a little coarser I think, and lacked the concave center. The later chips featured a concave center so the famous “white ring” would wear instead of the entire face of the chip. The newer ones are much more common I believe.

There are actually several different surface finishes / textures on Chipcos: Linen, recessed, satin, and slick.

This terminology comes from http://chipguide.themogh.org/cg_faq.php - not everyone will use the same terms or describe the chips in the same way. But that chipguide page has some pictures, so you can compare the chips you have to their pictures and decide for yourself.

BR Pro / ABC Gifts and Awards ended up with a large supply of Chipco blanks; they were textured, I think with the "linen" finish. But their supply was running low recently, and I don't know if they still have any. You can send them an email and ask about them.

Other than that, I don't think there are any Chipco blanks still available, as Chipco went out of business a while ago. There was some discussion in this thread that the Game On Chip Company (GOCC) might potentially be still in business and might potentially have some blanks that closely resemble the old Chipco blanks, but at this time that's really just wild speculation / wishing and hoping.

Thanks for the link. Great information thank you. I was curious because I'm contemplating a custom ceramic set from brpoker and was wondering if it was worth asking for chipco ceramic vs there in house ceramic blanks
