Wouldn't risk buying from this user. He gave me the run a around on chips that he messaged me about. First he asked me how much I would purchase the chips for, then he told me they were sold. Move ahead a few days and he put them on eBay and sent me the link saying " you really want these chips".

I'd take precautions buying anything from him.

I've considered to take a risk and buy some Private Card Room Chips on german eBay and sell you those. But then I've decided, to send you the link of the auction directly. what is your problem?

It seems you were not very transparent to @LordFalsate and I think that he’s a point sharing his experience.

For me this kind of feedback is important to have a trusted marketplace.

I can choose my level of transparency, by myself

This is a market place, and we are all players in this market. I saw a chance to buy and sell good chips. I decided to not go this way, but sended him the source directly. What is the problem at all? It's not my eBay auction. I would never sell them for 1.5k

Is it forbidden to buy chips cheap and sell them for a regular price?
- I found a "good" auction on eBay
- LordFalsate was looking for a long time for those chips
- I asked him how much he would pay
- I never told LordFalsate that those chips are mine (but ofc it seems like)
- LordFalsate told me, it depends - he has some other offers
- LordFalsate gave me no offer, so I decided to not buy&sell
- I gave him the URL of the eBay auction

please guys. you blame me? for what?

It's certainly ok if you own the chips you're selling...

And according to @LordFalsate you told him that the chips are now sold (which was not the case).

So if he received a mail from you with a sale proposition + later a mail from you saying that the chips are sold, imho, he can fairly assume that YOU are the seller of the chips.

I was not SELLING. I've just asked, how much he would pay for those
SELLING is what I'm doing in this thread

I told him they are sold, because I decided to not buy them. The result is exactly the same.

And then, I've gave him the chance to buy the chips, he was looking for, for a very good price - without any benefit for myself

It sounds a little like a misunderstanding.

Plenty of users here snap up great bargains and use the profit to fund other projects (myself included), just like we all sometimes pay a premium for personally desired chips. I guess the problem here is it sounded like you were gauging interest on chips you didn't yet own. Next time, buy first, find a seller later, and enjoy the chips in your possession, even if it's for a short time!

Agreed ^

It’s fine to gauge interest or even ask what the market price of chips are that you’ve found but not yet bought. This happens occasionally on the Collectors Corner thread (I’ve done this approach 3-4 times already). If you’re aking an individual chipper about a price, just state clearly that you are looking for the market price (not their personal level of interest) and I’d be upfront that you dont actually own them yet. That being said let’s put this behind and move on to focusing on these cool chips!

Take my word boys, avoid this guy like the plague until

You've lied multiple times here.

Take my advice guys, avoid him.

My experience : I've just sold some chips to DerberAlter last week. Good transaction for me. No problems for me as seller
