Full bleeds can be done successfully in Shutterfly. Check out my chips in the 2011 calendar. You do need to center and crop the image carefully, keeping crucial elements away from the margins and remembering that the lower part of the image will be covered by the spiral binding.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply it's impossible. I've done many of them if you review old calendars, but a particular image my be difficult to use during design process and you may have to tweak the image to make text show up.

Are there links to the old calendar entries? I wonder if my Dunes cash set would be eligible (I can't remember if my Dunes tourney set had $5s in it when it was the calendar last).

in general i agree with this. i don't think we should exclude casino sets from the running, but it would take a ridiculously amazing set (think berg's Dunes) to get me to choose any casino set over a custom.

Or kadrik's incredible Bellagio set. Or any one of the recently-revealed TRK casino sets (first edition Tropicana, etc.). There are several solid candidates from the casino realm, some of which dwarf many custom sets.... and I don't mean by size.

Whether a Paulson set dwarfs a custom set is in the eye of the beholder, but I don't think we need to necessarily theme the entire calendar. It's not jarring to see a Paulson casino set followed by a custom ASM set in the next month followed by a TRK casino set....

IMO, the Bellagio set is cool, but anyone could've built that - it's not like chips were rare and they're live chips - I could do this with a Foxwoods set pretty easily.

The 1st edition Tropicana TRKs are whoooooooa, these oughta be the leadoff hitter.

And I didn't mean to imply that it's easy, and of course you need to be working with the right image. IIRC, at times all you had to work with was a low-res image taken from a post.

I've liked the variety of layouts in the past few calendars. Seeing a couple of shots per set is great, IMO, and you did a great job in selecting a small portion of a larger image in order to highlight a particular aspect of that set. I've always appreciated your good eye.

Perhaps not this year, but maybe at some point, I wouldn't mind seeing past sets in new calendars on one condition:

NEW PICTURES!

I wouldn't want to see the same pictures re-used, but if they were shot again, it could definitely be interesting.

Also, if a past set had some additions to it, then it could be nice to see the evolution.

Just going to go ahead and leave this right here

Depends on your pron.......cuz this shit's not gonna make it (as good as it looks).....just sayin'

Some locked in details.

  • Calendar will feature 11 new entries and 1 entry for the HOF (Tom or Tommy is there an "official HOF month so we can reserve that month for HOF?"
  • Calendar entries will be nominated and voted in by members of PCF committing to purchase a calendar.
  • Only physical sets will be voted in. (Sorry but if your set is still in production there's always next year :))
  • Any type of chipset is eligible. It is not limited to custom chips. Group buy sets, casino sets etc are all possible.
Some details that still need work.
  • Desk calendars.
  • PCF HOF logo? P5woody?
  • Custom date events? I don't know if it could be done but having meet ups in the dates (like public holidays are) would be pretty cool.
  • Size. Chris can you confirm past calendars were 8x11?
  • Photos. Now I believe it should be upto the owner of the set to chose the style/type of photo/s they would like featured in the calendar. I can understand the desire to have certain types of photos but not everyone is a professional photographer.
  • In the situation of a member unable to provide photos, the best pictures available will be used from PCF.
  • Further to that. Is permission needed for photos to be used if a member doesn't respond to sending photos?
Anyhow carry on as you were

I made this from the Football (US football :p) HOF logo. It's not that great. If woody is up to it and has time, probably better for him to make a new one.

Do we want to make a month dedicated to the HOF inductees every year?

I just thought if there was a certain month that the inductees were going to be named that it might be a good idea to have that same month in the calendar. Definately not a requirement.

I love the idea actually. It solidifies the HOF as annually significant

Iirc, shutterfly calls them 8 x 10 wall calendars when choosing a design, although they measure 8.25 x 10.75.

Need a volunteer to handle payments and shipping.

I CAN handle payments but I believe there are fees involved as I'm in a different country?
