Not Mine 268 Paulson Murphy's Casino $1s (1 Viewer)

Nothing to see here - move along, move along.

I'm thinking this PCF meme is suddenly relevant ;)

When someone posts a link to an auction I was hoping to take down with no competition:

I thought cali $1s had to be blue. You're welcome for the bump, @Gear ;)

I don't believe there are any regulatory requirements for denom colors in California (unlike, say, New Jersey, which requires a certain color for each denom). If you scroll through the Chip Guide for Cali chips, you'll see all kinds of crazy colors used for every denom.

Huh, I thought "Cali" colors (blue $1, brown $5, black $20, white $100, at least) were more than just informal tradition. Missouri has gaming commission regs on colors as well (I believe).

The vast majority of Cali rooms I've seen do use what are traditionally referred to as Cali colors (the $5 is traditionally yellow rather than brown), but like I said, look at the Chip Guide and you'll see plenty of variation. There are even a few rooms that use Vegas colors. Off the top of my head, take a look at the Village Club and the Palomar for a couple of the more popular rooms with odd colors for a couple denoms.

I have a friend named Murphy so there is going to be some action on these.

would be nice labeled quarters, imo.
I agree would be nice as relabels, but I also feel like sooooo many nice chips are getting labels and being ruined for eternity since these will likely never be available again

Uh, labelling chips doesn't ruin them. (If it does, your labels suck.)

I can't speak for other labels, but the labels I've bought from @Gear don't do any damage to the underlying inlay. Not only that, but they adhere well without leaving any residual stickiness behind if you remove them. I know some labels I've tried samples of in the past (albeit 3-4 yeas ago), left a bit of a mess behind when removed, but that's certainly not the case with the current ones I'm using.

To be clear, what I meant is exactly what bentax said -- labelling chips should not physically ruin them. Maybe if nice inlays are covered up by subjectively ugly labels, that's one thing, but my labels can always be removed.

(Of course if you're after inlay replacement, that's another story altogether, and definitely does irreversible damage, i.e. destroys the existing inlay.)

Although many follow a blue $1 / yellow $5 / black $20 / purple $25 / white $100 color scheme, there is lots of variation in CA card rooms. Outpost Casino dollars were brown. No state standard required afaik.

Was not referring to placing labels over them, I meant from strictly a standpoint of covering a pretty cool inlay to begin with. It would be a shame to lose the original luster of the inlay IMO

Understood. I agree, the inlay on these is better than a lot of others I've seen.

i dont think these will end at a "re-label price" but maybe i am wrong, putting labels on low prices paulsons is understandable but i think these wont fit that bill, just guessin out loud

im in a selling mode right now.....so im out, ummm maybe..

I have family in Galt Ca which is the next town over. Been to this card room. You know how people say that the camera doesn't do these chips "justice"? Well these chips look horrible in person. The camera actually makes these look ten times better. Weird huh?

under 70 cents a chip is cheap in my book...i watched them go was thinking of a snipe at about $180-$190 but i really dont want/need them....im tryin to stick to reducing the herd to a few sets and racks only....i got a thousand or so to got then i will hold....hopefully

I also had tentative a snipe set in the 185-190 range. Canceled it because I really didn't "need" them. FWIW, I also thought they'd go closer to 250.
