Hello PCF Friends! My 2 year anniversary on this site just passed. I thought now would be a great time to offer up my very first Giveaway!

Here are the rules:
  • We'll do this NLHE style! My Chanman table's got 10 seats, so I'll pick 10 random qualifying posts from this thread to play out a single NLHE hand
  • I'll let this thread run from today (Monday June 14th) until tomorrow night at midnight EDT
  • If you'd like to try your luck, you'll need to post "I Love NJ and BearMetal!" followed by a sentence or two about how PCF has helped you get through the past year. I'm going to search for that text to find the contenders, so nothing sneaky like changing the text :)
  • The winner will get their choice of up to 3 DB barrels customized with their own colors and text, shipping covered by me (of course)
  • I don't think anyone is excluded since I don't think I've made any enemies in my 2 years here, so I guess there is no asshat clause.
  • And now, onto the prize...

Let's be honest here; these are printed on an 11yo's first 3D printer that is normally used to make rainbow frogs and puzzle boxes. They are not perfect; but I think they're pretty cool and I think everyone who's gotten them has really enjoyed them. So, let's make this a fun one!

My business ground to a halt for almost the entirety of Covid, so while it has been tragic on one hand but on the other hand my kids will hopefully appreciate this time I had spent with them (I know I have). That being said, sometimes kids suck and you need to get away and since online poker also sucks... that is where PCF and the friends and projects here were a savior. Cheers to BearMetal and cheers to PCF!

As I am a nurse, I didn't surf on PCF because I had more time during the first phases of Covid, but because I found a way to free my mind for a couple minutes each day. Okay maybe a couple hours some day. Well I honestly think I got myself into a more devastating disease... sigh

I echo @Eloe2000 in saying that sometimes you need to have a place to escape from the kids and this place has been exactly that for me. And based on how fast I am on the “dibs” maybe I ‘escape’ on my phone a little too often… haha.
Honestly, this community is filled 99.9% amazing folks, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have found a place here.

I just joined a few weeks ago and love looking at everyones setup and customs. It’s inspired me to develop my own custom set eventually, and I also got the opportunity to buy my first set of Paulsons…down the rabbit hole i go!

During the pandemic, I was playing a lot of online poker. Once all the online games started drying up my thoughts headed towards wanting to host a "live" game of poker. Having not hosted a game for well over 10 years and no longer having my trusty dice chips I set out into the internet to try and find the "best" poker chips. Naturally, I ended up on PCF after watching a few videos from PCFers on youtube. I ultimately ended up going down the chipping rabbit hole. Being part of PCF allowed me to join a community and begin to learn about such a nuanced hobby. PCF essentially became a healthy distraction during the pandemic as I excitedly waiting for something new to learn or something new to arrive / acquire. This gave me something to look forward to during a time where it was hard to look too far forward with uncertainty abount.

"I Love NJ and BearMetal!" Actually been to NJ and did have a blast. PCF has helped me this year by making me spend all my money on chips meaning I have been permanently broke and can no longer afford class A's.

This past year PCF has helped me realize how things could always be worse....for example I could live in North Jersey instead of South!!! OK...seriously...I came into this community around a year ago knowing literally no other members. And I have since sent money or chips to at least 20 different members and every transaction has been flawless. It's been refreshing to be part of a group of "strangers" I can actually trust...that seems more and more rare in this world these days!

So many folks on this forum have went out of their way to give me personal advice completely unrelated to poker chips. PCF has helped me take steps to figure out what I really want to do in life believe it or not, and although I still have no clue what it is I feel motivated to take certain steps to figure that out.

I’ve been off of PCF for a while but got back on and it gave me a way to unwind after a long days work. I’m a school principal and we stayed open the entire time of the pandemic but it was tough. PCF had been a good escape.

I'm not here to make money. I love all the stories above because they all echo what I feel. This place has been such a fantastic escape that was much needed over the past year. I think I said it in my one year post that this was the first type of online community that I actually really felt a part of.

The past year, like many, I have been out of work. It’s been refreshing to browse PCF and enjoy the company of others that enjoy this site like nothing has changed. Takes my mind off unpleasant things in society and has me looking forward to great chips, friends and some laughs.

This forum has definitely been a huge help during the copious amounts of lockdowns in the North! Just being able to share stores and talk poker chips has been a great outlet.

I also somehow managed to run a group buy (when we were doing well in Aug-Sept). That definitely kept me busy tracking all of the orders and coordinating everything.

PCF inspired me to keep busy during the pandemic, building a craps table and collecting chips, which led to me having an excuse to invite people over and stay close with friends and family. Now I've made a ton of new friends through poker and regularly have social interactions which has significantly improved my mood and outlook.

without a visit to PCF daily my life would have seemed totally foreign while stuck at home. This place helped me keep in touch with normalcy.

Thanks to PCF I beat my depression after some personal problems. Met great people and learned a lot about chips and cards. I even started consulting for card producing company. Not an easy life but I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

This place has surely prevented what would have been a very dark and depressing time for me. Lots of people say that this place has changed and is no longer the same, and is only about scalping chips. But I have to say, after only being here for a couple of years, I've only seen the best in people. I know that my experience is not going to be the same as everyone else's, but certain members help make this place special.

I'm glad that you were able to find enjoyment here and that it helped you through a difficult time. That's the kind of story I love to hear.

I thought I know pretty all about cards.... then I met Dix and his Redneck Database, that made me humble and I realized that there is always more to learn.
 
I've got my randomization program written and ready to run. So far, we've got 19 players, of which 10 will get randomly chosen to sit at the table and play some NLHE. Still time to get your name in! Just gotta show some love to NJ :)

PCF has served as a nice escape from the apocalypse we all survived. Scary times last year with half the earth shut down, and it was nice to come here and see “normal” stuff: giveaways, people b*tching over chip prices, etc.

The past year has been SO BORING. Can't see my friends, no going out to eat, no live poker. PCF has given me something to do. I've been chipping for a very very long time. I've tried to quit. Several times. But I'm completely addicted to these chippies. And during this past year, having spent more time online, I've actually gotten to "know" a few chippers a little better, chatting with them outside of the public threads and classifieds. There are some pretty great people here.

Also, wanted to say, this giveaway is AWESOME! My dealer buttons need some help.
