Those are Huntington Park Casino chips, not Hollywood Park Casino. Lot of corrupt history with that place in the 1990s.

$2 and $20 chips are in great shape.

$320 for 500 chip set with history? That's IT?

Sigh. It's like folding 78s UTG. If I'd known no one was going to raise, I'd have played.

I think the bicycle wheel condition of everything but the $2s and $20s plus the fact that the auction ended on Christmas evening drove the price down, but yeah I was surprised to see them sell that low.

which also makes zero sense to me.....

Meanwhile, Paulson WTH&C's sell at $3+ per chip.

Many people want something familiar and generic. For example, many people will go to Olive Garden and pay more for some fake frozen crap than a local place that will likely be cheaper and taste like real italian food. The familiarity factor is often very strong.
