Found these on offerup. Looks like the guy has $50000 in Resorts World Chips and $10000 in Bellagio chips. The back story sounds weird. If you like high end Las Vegas Chips and and want these here you go. I personally I'm not going to pursue these.

Check out this item on OfferUp. https://offerup.co/hSOJumNYDSb

TBH the back story actually sound fairly legit, I don’t think your avg person knows much about casino/chip security and procedures. I’d imagine the flags would be relatively easy to cash in bellagio if one were to sit in a $10/20 game or something, Resorts world might be trickier. In any case the discount doesn’t really justify the risk IMO.

That’s what I was thinking. Doesn’t seem shady, but it does seem like an absolute shit show.

I guess if all else fails, he (or someone) will be able to turn them into the gaming commission once the chips/casino is retired? That’s how that works right?

These look fake as can be. I do not believe any company would release 5k chips that poorly produced. Feels like a scam, not willing to read the story as anyone with that should have amount should have no issues finding someone to take them.
Don’t look fake to me, but hell what do I know.

The chips in the pics are 100% (ok, 99.5%) real Paulson chips. Metallic silver base, house mold, correct spots (inserts), correct inlay, printing, texture and wear all reallllly difficult to copy.

Also, if you’ve been around chipping long at all, you’ll know that GPI’s QC is not exactly top notch sometimes. This off center inlay is evidence to these being legit chips, I’ve seen more wonky Paulson and BCCs than I can count. Also, if you’re copying a $5k chip you’d have to be a moron to try and sneak in a fake chip that looked that bad.

I am selling legitimate $5,000 Poker Chips from Resort World.that I’m asking $4300 each if you buy them all. I have $50,000 in 5K chips available. I am not a gambler but received these over a year ago as partial payment towards a vehicle I sold. Originally when the buyer offered these to me I agreed because I believed them to be easily converted to cash simply by visiting the casino and I thought it to be an excellent way to diversify my assets further. Instead a few weeks ago, after having these for more than a year I attempted to cash several of the $5000 chips and the casino informed me that because I did not have a players card showing gambling history at their casino they could not redeem them. They told me I needed to have the person who gave them to me verify themselves so they know they were obtained during the course of gambling. I had no clue that you have substantial and significant play history with a casino for high limit chips to be redeemed for cash. (Well this was what was told to me at least). I tried to contact the customer who purchased the vehicle from me last year but I’ve been unsuccessful in reaching him. I do not live in Las Vegas, but in Southern California and I am really unsure on how to proceed and don’t want to deal with complicated problems so this would be a great opportunity for someone who has a history with that casino and has the play history that would include the use of $5000 poker chips from Resort World, We can complete the transaction in person but please do not reply unless you’re serious and have the ability to use or cash out these chips as well as the funds to purchase them. If the ad is still up, they’re still available.

I'm not sure what the practice is in cashing in high denom chips; not a high roller, but they do look real

and i like @kmccormick100 's idea of just buying into a poker game to convert these basically. I'd do it; its a $700 freeroll

So many red flags...

Who sits on 60k in chips for a year?
Who accepts chips as payment knowing nothing about the casino industry?
If I'm settling you a car for chips in Vegas, we can take 10 minutes to get the cash
casino chips are diversifying assets ... Lol

I'm convinced there are people that can forge/paint chips well enough from base chips, labels aren't hard. The dirt on the Bellagio in reasonable, but even that feels of based on the use these would probably see.

Just in case no one has seen this story somehow:

I'm sure that when he did the deal he had no idea how hard it is to get high end chips cashed in at the casino.

The average person doesn't know that. He's posted on Facebook, OfferUp, he even emailed me at work asking what he can do. To be honest there really isn't much because he doesn't have a players card, he doesn't have the data in their system to prove that he got these chips himself. Most casinos will not let you cash chips this high denom.

Many others have called asking to sell high end MGM Grand and Palazzo chips in the past and it's just not even worth trying to do it because of that.

I completely agree with the red flags… who the hell takes payment like that unless your getting an extra 5k for your troubles.

But what “base chip” with a resorts world house mold and showboat grey are they going to use? It even has the sparkles.

I feel that this is more likely a set-up for a robbery, than someone who managed to get hands on some house mold blanks.

i dont think its a set up for a robbery; just ask to meetup at a bank and complete the deal there. park right in front of the bank.

i do think the seller is fucking stupid though for thinking vegas chips is a diversifying asset. though stupid and rich tends to go hand in hand; and maybe he's just too rich to have been bothered to turn in 50k in the chips until he was recently in vegas

also mentioned is that the chips were a partial payment. maybe he was selling a ferrari? lol

the original buyer of the car mightve been trying to evade taxes, or doing some money laundering.

This probably explains it. Stupid, rich, and possibly a hint of illegal activities.

I know how exactly the casino redemption works, I'm talking about getting a partial payment of $50000 in Chips for a car deal.

Thank you Baldy! I was that lazy...

Hmmmm... if / when I ever make it to the nosebleeds, I feel a business opportunity coming  :ROFLMAO:

At our casino, we track all $1k chips and above. If you try to cash any out, the cage will ask for ID and contact table games to confirm the chips left the pit. You are not required to supply your ID unless you’re cashing out more than $10k in chips. The main reason they do this is to stop people from structuring their cash outs using agents to circumvent the CTR requirements. I personally would try and use one at a table with a lot of action and break the chip into smaller denominations. Play for a bit then leave the table with the smaller chips and cash them out at a later date. I would also take a black light to the chips first and make sure all the security features are present.

@quintooo Maybe the Bellagio chips but I can confirm the RW chips are RFID'd 100%, been there done that. Probably screwed on these even if you try to break them down at a table. Whatever you do dont tell anyone (maybe too late) that you took them as payment for anything as that is 100% illegal.

Could you theoretically pocket these and spend one 5k at the poker tables say the PLO games and break them down? Might take a few visits but I’ve seen regs bring fanny pack with plenty of high denom chips though I usually see 1ks.

Alternatively … buyin bigger and maybe add 1 or 2 to your stack and cash out later.
