No, not a good deal. But someone was willing to pay $6+ per chip, so that happened.
 
I dont see $6 to bad if you see what sets are selling for in forum and on eBay.
Price is insane now and chips goes for between $2 - $14 :/
I did buy my last 50 pcs mint Pharaoh $1000 for about $14 pr chip
 
I just looked at sold items and there was a 1000 CDI set that went in May for $1500 Buy it Now!! Damn!!! Mostly $1s, $5s, and some $25s and $100s. Sorry I missed that one!
 
My 2 cents from putting together a set of these over the last 6 months. I can tell you the 1ks and fracs are very hard to come by and are going to cost. Finding 80/50 of them as part of one set is a gold mine. Minty 1ks have been selling on eBay, PCF and elsewhere for $20-$30 chip. The fracs are easily in low teens and whenever either is listed on eBay they sell very fast even at those prices. Those chips alone in this set are worth (or at least could be easily resold for) almost 2k. Those $5s look to be radiants which is the perceived better shade by some. If these chips are actually all "mint to near mint", and the $1s and $5s color match (regardless of shade) as well, that set is actually a bargain when you also throw in the value of the significant amount of time it would take you to put the same set together piecemeal. The color match on this looks to be spot on unlike the 2000-piece set being peddled for $17,500. But, I bet if that guy ever gets his act together and lowers his set price to 14-16, it will sell as well. Just my thoughts based upon values I have seen over the last 6 months.

For all these reasons I almost put an offer in but I can tell you the color on the $5s is really difficult to tell in pictures. Glad someone else seems to have picked them up.

Agree on the color, hard to tell if Radiant but whichever shade they are, they appear consistent throughout. That's why I tend to think they are radiants b/c that is the color that I have found will usually be very similar. The other reds can have up to 3 or 4 shades, it is very hard to get a consistent line-up on the non-radiants.

Good thing my set is pretty much done at 2700 chips, and by that, I have said it before more than a few times. Then needed another rack of this, another rack of that, ohhhh more $1Ks gotta get those, then $5Ks, and then $25K and then finally $100Ks. I mean another rack of $1Ks would always be nice but not at the $14-20 per chip that I have seen lately, so that I am grateful. Other than my OCD of only having 3 barrels of converted ESPT $500 into my $100K chips, but also saw what barrels of those have been going for, so I am good so far unless I find a deal that I can't pass up.

Great tourney set there. But either way as a whole or selling off racks, they should all go fast! Just saw a wanted ad today for CDI98 $25 chips for a rack or two. Most of the time, nobody wants them.

Hope you make a deal with Berny and keep the chipes local and with another CDI98 connoisseur
