I played at the Sandia a couple of times too. Its a nice place. I lost money of course. I remember one hand where I limped in with KK, made a set and then folded to a bluff on the river. Right after that I noticed everyone reaching into their wallet to buy more chips

In one of my stints at MITRE, I did real-time military satellite control work, most of it from high up in the Sandia mountains with a crew from Sandia Labs. I was out there at least a week every month for over two years, and got to know the area pretty well, and acquire a lot of New Mexico art.

Played a lot of tennis at the university courts, got hooked on green chili. And I have a first cousin who works at Sandia and Los Alamos, and lives just south of ABQ (in Los Lunas, just below the casino).

So I'm not sure how I resisted buying these chips originally, but I was sorely tempted. These will fit nicely into my collection of heads-up sets.
