David, come on. I'm 100% sure he's kidding. So you went ahead and bid on them knowing full well they were stolen property?
I might be also.David, come on. I'm 100% sure he's kidding.
I feel like this adds to their value??So you went ahead and bid on them knowing full well they were stolen property?
Might be an issue with copy/paste, tooI might be also.
Smiley button on my phone broke a while ago.
LolI wonder if David told the seller to ship them to his address that's still on the box the seller bought them in.
To save 50 people asking the question, as I had not heard back from LE I won the auction.
First time I thought you didn't want to fight everyone in this thread.
Bummer... but sounds like @David Spragg was able to make the situation right by winning the auction. He is a great guy to work with and he works very hard so it doesn't surprise me that he paid to win the auction to keep everyone's chips safe. Thanks for the hard work @David SpraggI see @DuffCal custom as well.
If I was a proprietor in making custom chips, I would have a sample set of all that I make for multiple reasons, none include I'm a sneaky American or have ill intentions.Finding out these were stolen eases the mind - means this wasn't an inside job.
This might be an unpopular opinion but if it were my customs I'd still be pissed that these even exist. As others have pointed out, security is part of the reason for paying the premium price for customs. These chips wouldn't be out there if they didn't exist.

There is a security aspect, as well as a quality aspect, a communication aspect.
Documentation can only get you so far, samples can make sure future orders are right, also material / warranty reasons.
CPC making / keeping versions is a good thing for the community.
Agreed - keeping samples makes sense.Zero reason to continue to speculate on reasons why CPC has samples.
The owner already advised that it's done to comply with gaming regulations.
You're quoting a post that was made before that info was provided.
i agree easy to drill a small hole in them and store them. no need for live samples. reason we use cpc is for security!!! lot of people have players they no nothing about at there games. this way chips arnt being brought in from eBay,amazon, or online!!Agreed - keeping samples makes sense.
However, for the sake of everyone, cancel the samples (drill, notch, etc.). IIRC elsewhere in the thread it is mentioned that it is done for Nevada, and I know that Paulson, ASM, and others cancelled their retained samples.
The question shouldn’t be why do they keep samples, but why to they keep live samples? The whole point of this thread is that even with the best of intentions, and commercially reasonable practices, live samples can escape the control of the manufacturer.
Imagine how different this entire thread would have gone if they pictures showed canceled chips.
Finally, if I were the manufacturer, whose private business practices became public due to this incident, I would issue a statement showing that I cancelled all samples on hand, and that I would continue to do that going forward.
This is seriously a concern?
- Yes, from a process standpoint, this is a miss, irrespective of whether or not the chips get into your game. However, I believe that it was stated that Paulson does this for all customers, and this is done for Nevada customers. Either a company believes in consistent processes for security, or they don’t. As someone in a related business, I find this to be a big miss.
Have you been to PCF before?, and I can't imagine the community coming together to provide relief in one thread and then being overly critical in another.
Yea! Let’s take legold for example! Are people here really concerned that their samples does not have a hole in them? It's one chip of each, and it's not like these packages go missing every week. So first someone has to steal the package, then sell them to someone in your game.
This is seriously a concern?
Explain how a chip "exactly like one of the ones posted" can be made?Yea! Let’s take legold for example!
Those images I have never seen (I don’t watch custom section real close but now his designs are out there and it wasn’t his .50cent and $1 chips.
but let’s take the $500chip or even a $100 you could make a Chip exactly like one of the ones posted that wasn’t suppose to make it out but did, let’s say it’s a big home game or large room! Now we have to order new $100 and $500 due to security being Compromised!! Doesn’t matter if the situation was corrected or wasn’t !!!!! Knowing chips are stored live makes me feel less secure ! Lots of you use cpc for fun chips for fun home games and just to make new ones! We use them for a weekend we’re we have up to 100,000 in chips on table!!! Cpc is the only option for clay to us as Paulson won’t sell to us without a gaming license!! We can’t use chiproom chips or roulettes/molds relabled!
Working at a place that has high limit 10-20 nl and 25-50limit High denomins have to be secure!!!! We can’t have 1 slip out of a room and pictures on eBay! Not only that but now whoever got a hold of these odds are they will do it again after cashing in on $800 score! They know address we’re these were shipped out of and we’re they was going!!! This seems to be an issue as well for us now also!
