It's been quite the summer here, and I am not talking about the weather.
Lots of big ideas came to fruition, made possible by a lot of tenacity and hard work.
TLDR:
Our printhead reached the end of its life, and the printer is out of warranty.
For the cost of the repair, we might as well get a new printer with a shiny new warranty. (which is what we did.) That took 3+ weeks and the queue stacked up.
The Lemonade:
The forced downtime from printing made the space to work on our new CNC setup. Gear finally found solutions for the last few problems in getting shaped milling back up and running.
ALSO
The old printer still has a cutter that works just fine...so we kept it and re-arranged our set up so we could have both going at the same time. Again, some problem solving along the way, but those hurdles have been overcome and we now have increased capacity for label production.
Price increases and changes to our services as of today, October 1, 2022. (Label cost is not changing at this time)
Like before, anyone already in our queue for our services will get the prices at the time they got into the queue.
Those who stuck it out and committed to us even though we are quoting things like "next year sometime" will get the 2021 rates.
Inlay Replacement Pricing
We have introduced a sliding scale Paulson inlay replacement.
The newer the chip is, the less we ask. So for some of you the price will go down! (Including for those currently in the queue.)
Good examples of the extreme ends of the scale:
We are working through our CNC shaped milling queue as we speak. A lot of people stuck with us and we are grateful for their support and patience.
In the spirit of under-promise and over-deliver, I am still quoting a 2023 start for new orders, but it should be closer to Q1 than "sometime in 2023"...
Road Trip! October 11-18
20 years ago we both vowed to spend our days together traveling and exploring.
A global pandemic paused that for a few years, but it's time to get back into the swing.
We are heading to the Oregon coast. (Newport)
We received this British toast on our wedding day, somewhat as a joke, from my maid of honour. We latched onto its advice and heed it on a regular basis.
I am firm in my belief it is a large part of why I am looking forward to our next 20 years together.
