Hey All!!

I purchased these because I loved the color if the $5 chips (such a sexy black and red combo!), but now that I'm well on my quest for Grand Vics, I just won't ever use these. They're worn (I'd say maybe 10-20% will stand on edge) but no cracks (see pics). They need a really good washing or two (see pics to show what they look like after brief cleaning and oiling), but they're definitely playable and they're Paulson hat and cane (see pics, it looks like the long cane mold).

There are 1099 of the red $5 chips, and 400 of the blue $1 chips. I paid a buck a chip shipped, and would like roughly that outta them. I'm asking $1400+fees(or PP f&f)+shipping, but I'm open to offers.

I'm open to splitting up the set, and I'll be giving priority to higher volume purchasers.

Feel free to ask any questions! Thanks all!!

I have a couple racks of the 5s already, and a couple racks of the 1s (although my 1s have orange spots, not yellow) but I'd be interested in some of these.

If split, probably down for 100 x 5 and 300 x 1. (To be confirmed)

Gotta love LCV Paulsons!!

If we can find takers for the rest of the reds, I'm happy to split these up and ship them out this week.

I was hoping to get $1400++ for them, so splitting them up would be about $95 per 100.

Thanks all!!

Have you attempted cleaning/re-oiling of any of these? If so, results? Always loved this inlay.

Nope, haven't done anything with them other than count them and then put them back in the box and on a shelf. I'm happy to wash and oil a barrel or so if you'd like to see the results! :)

Very nice of you to offer. Would LOVE to see how they come out. Might be too tempted if they look too good :)

I've cleaned mine, and if they're the same kind of dirty (which it looks like they are) they were tough to clean but came out gorgeous.

I think I have before-and-after pics around here somewhere.... yup, found 'em. Not the best photo - the cleaned rack in the top pic still looks washed out and dry but that's from the flash. The bottom pic shows the color better.

Nice, Gear. Hand washed and oiled? If I bought, I'd consider shipping mine to @courage for the ultrasonic treatment...

I have an ultrasonic now, but I didn't have it yet when I cleaned these. As I recall, they needed a lot more than the standard "soak and very light scrub with a nail brush" that had been my standard MO up to that point in my chip-cleaning career. I think I used a magic eraser on the edges, which I typically avoid since it can remove too much chip material.

There were also Sharpie (?) marks on the edges on many of the red chips - for example, see the 6th and 7th chips from the top of the far-left barrel in my pic. Those I scraped off with either a magic eraser or the back edge of an X-Acto blade. (Obviously I have no idea if Jestyr's chips have the same marks.)

All in all, they took a lot more effort to clean than most chips I had seen up to that point (which includes a lot of really filthy chips) but they turned out pretty nicely.

PS - is "standard MO" redundant?

Just cleaned up 20 reds and 20 blues.

All I used was tooth brush and dawn dishsoap, and then oiled them. I let them soak a little and used my fingernail on some of the gunk. Otherwise I didn't spend much time on these at all.

See images. These are the exact same chips from the OP in the rack for comparison.

The blues didn't show much improvement unfortunately, maybe a ultrasonic is needed for them.

But the reds...my goodness...

Thanks @TheJestyr! I think you and @Gear are right - gotta put in more time with these to get them nice and clean compared to most sets that need a cleaning. Beautiful chips, though, and would definitely be worth the time to anyone willing to go through the trouble.

Time to split up the set!

@NiceShot if you're still interested in 200 and 200, they're yours. PM me and we'll work out details.

Anyone else who's interested, post on here or PM me! Thanks all!! :)
