I had a couple of spare ammo crates sitting around. Why not see how chips would fit. For those that don't fancy the "Ammo Crate" decor it's just a label that easily comes off.
Turns out you can fit 12 racks in warneke boxes.
If you take one box out you can add a setup or two and dealer button. There is minimal shifting but not enough to damage the chips.
Also works with Justin racks (11 racks , 1 setup & 1 dealer button). The plastic KEM & copaq card cases won't fit on the side so you would have to take out a rack and place them on top.
The crate has just about the same foot print as a Nanuk 910 and is about 7/8" taller.
May not be the prettiest way to store chips but at $18 each I would say they are a good alternative.
