Another UK based newbie (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
I'm new to the world of poker chips but have been playing poker online and home games for about a year now. I have decided it is time to get a 'proper' set and I am now in the research phase learning about all the different types etc. As a result I've been lurking on here for a few days so thought I'd say hi!

Hello! The UK contingent of members on this site grows!

As was mentioned before you can browse this site and quickly find the sky is the limit in terms of what you can spend on a set. My advice is to browse for a month and see what is out there and for what kind of prices before you pull the trigger on something you might not be happy with.

Ask lots of questions, the people here are very friendly and willing to help.

What kind of set did you have in mind? Cash or Tourney and for how many players?

I tend to play SNG style mini tournaments usually with 9 players so looking for non-currency specific chips. Having only browsed for a little while I'm liking the look of some of the china clays and some of the ceramics - though I don't want to spend tooo much! I'm trying to get samples of both to have a play but struggling to find suitable shops/reasonable delivery to the uk. Any tips?

Don’t get hung up on £/$ issues. I’ve a set of £ chips but $ are just as good if not more authentic.

Buy cheap, buy twice... if you’re going to hang about here long, the China clays won’t keep you satisfied forever....

Thanks for the tip. I do like a lot of the designs with $ signs so I'll keep my options open.
