This is about the nicest one of these I have seen. I love the gorgeous wood.

Observations;

A simple barrel-nose key will fit the lock; I did not have one the correct size.

Each cylinder holds 25/26 chips for a 400+ chip capacity. It also has slots for 2 decks of cards, a circular hole (for currency I imagine) and a slanted surface for coins perhaps.

The inside of the lid may have had either a cushion or some kind of additional divider on it which is why there are two unfinished stripes in the wood.

It does show signs of being repaired. I show pictures of that. This box is solid.

Also, not every chip fits in all the 16 holders, as the cylinders seem to be not PERFECTLY round, or perhaps the varnish has some drips that narrow the inner diameter. 1 or 2 of the holders HAS been sanded or worn in the past. I was not the abuser. Nor did I attempt to FORCE chips in every cylinder to capacity. I'm sure some minor sanding will suffice if you wish to fill it.

Rather than sand/revarnish/destroy the originality, I will leave it for you to decide.

No chips will be included, unless you would like some of the vintage clay chips shown; That can be discussed in a PM after the auction.

If there are questions, or more angles of the box you'd like to see, let me know.

This is going on eBay if if doesn't sell here. Giving the chippers a chance first. I was using it to store my collectible singles.
