I got an Aces Pro Alpha from BBO a little more than a year ago (https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/rate-my-room-what-is-my-room-missing.123086/); I love it, but I regret getting Speedcloth instead of a suede playing surface. Has anybody here ever resurfaced one of their tables? If so, would you fill me in on what exactly I'm going to be looking at and what supplies I will need? I know I'll need staples and a I'll rent a compressor and staple gun, but will I need any kind of adhesive, too? Will I need to replace any underlying padding or anything, or just the topmost layer of cloth? I've never done any kind of upholstery before, so any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Most common adhesive is 3M 77 spray - apply to foam and to back of suede. @T_Chan has a YouTube video on the process to apply - lots of great advice.

Given your table isn't very old, I wouldn't imagine the foam padding needs to be replaced but up to you. In addition, an easier approach is to place the suede on top of your SSC without any removal but this may or may not yield the best results.

I bought a Nighthawk from them many years ago and redid the felt myself to put on my custom felt. I don't know if their methods have changed but it was very easy to do.

Just remove the staples (flathead screw driver, needle nose pliers and a cup to put staples in), replace the felt and re-staple (by the way, you can easily get away with just buying an electric staple gun---lol---no need to bust out a compressor).

I think I replaced the foam at some later point as well. I don't recall it even being adhesively adhered to the underlying support material, IIRC it was just held in place with the staples. As I said, that was from a table years ago so their procedure could have changed.

Alternatively, you could also probably just get away with covering the existing cloth w/ felt without removing it at all.

That video is great, thanks!
