Hi all, new to PCF here!

I'm looking to upgrade from the cheap dice chip set into something middle of the road price/quality wise. I've done a lot of research here and in my mind the Apache Royals seem to fit what I'm looking for (samples on the way). I have some Milano and Casino Royale samples to compare when the Royals arrive. I like the Milanos overall except they seem a little too light/small for my liking.

That being said, how has your experience been with the Royals? The good, the bad, comparisons to other chips, etc.

I'd really like for this purchase to be a great set that I'll want to keep/use for a long time until I inevitably spend too much on customs or a top of the line set.

Thanks!

First, welcome to the forum!

We have been using Royals with a custom label for our cash games since 2019. No complaints. Players like them, the colors standout, and they stack just fine.

If I think back, I was weighing the options between Milanos and Majestics when Apache first announced and began selling the Royals. Glad I picked up the Royals and went with a custom logo. You won’t be disappointed either.

Here’s the official “showcase” thread. I’m sure you’ll see some reviews on the Royals in there as well.

Welcome!

I have about 1200 Royals that I use often and I love to play with them. That being said I do like the new web mold feel even more.

Apache does offer a new web mold ceramic chip (Monaco) in 43mm which i'm sure is nice.

It comes down to choice for you. You can save a few bucks and have a much wider selection using the group buy. It takes about two months to receive your chips from the closing date. https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...d-cards-mold-textured-no-mold-08-2024.121583/

From Apache, they cost a bit more but they will arrive within a week or so.

I will say the china clay smell is real but for me it's not a deterrent.

I think either way is good value for money for consumer grade chips.

That thread is awesome, thanks again!

Just ordered some samples of the Monaco. Thanks for the info!
