Wanted ARCHETYPE Tournament Set $25-$5000 (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone :)

I’m looking to buy a tournament set of Archetype Poker chips for a 12 person T10,000 starting stack game with enough $5000 chips for rebuys. I’m looking for denoms ranging from $25 to $5000.

If you or anyone you know has some archetypes collecting dust, post it here and I’ll be happy to chat with you.

Thanks for the intel, I did see that set when it was for sale, and sadly the chip breakdown made zero sense haha. But I appreciate the post, I’ll just keep looking, I’m sure someone has some collecting dust :)

Yea, that’s exactly what I thought. lol I asked if he would split and it was a no go.

I just got my set from a member here and haven’t use used tourney side or I might let some go. If you find some and need to purchase a lot and need to get rid of some smaller ones keep me posted I might be interested.

Have you ever run a deeper stack tourney? Do you have a preference of running 10k stack? What’s your breakdown for starting stack at 10k? I might do some longer blinds and start lower starting stack like you, I’ve just always done larger starting stack.

I like deeper stacks with ability to get into the 100k chips. I still do $25/50 starting blinds but run a 4 hour tourney and run 50k chips starting.
Sorry I just got these not too long ago and not liking to move any yet.

I like to do 12/12/7/5 with T25/T100/T500/T1000 respectively. I think I’m partial to the T10,000 stack because I grew up in the era of poker that heavily surrounded the WSOP main event. I was in High School in the early 2000s so naturally the T10,000 stack seemed right haha.

I’ve actually had a long love affair with the archetype chips, and have had one of each chip for almost 10 years now. The problem was I couldn’t justify buying a set because I haven’t had a consistent game for many years.

Also I’m kicking myself for not joining the site earlier, because I saw that set you bought closed just a month or so ago haha. And this afternoon I noticed that set up on eBay again, that guy has a lot of nerve, he’s literally charging more than the chips cost from side pot, in a denom setup that resembles a 1000 chip sample set....

Ideally for my games size I’m looking for a breakdown along these lines. Gives me plenty for the normal players with extra in case the game gets a bit bigger.

Starting Denoms:

$25 x 200

$100 x 200

$500 x 160

$1000 x 100

Rebuy/Color up Denoms:

$5000 x 40
 
Yea, i was in college during the “boom” and we were playing 10k stacks back then too, but I never ran a tourney myself.

Thanks for breakdown, I may do that, what blind length do you do? How long do your tourney’s Go?

Yea, got a heckuva deal I feel, and finished off the cash set not too long after that either. ;) I literally joined because my brother saw the set up for sale and we had to snag one, we’d been eying archetypes for years, but none were “affordable.”

Yea, about that eBay seller, I literally messaged him and told him most of those chips are for sale for less new on sideopot and his were used. He then went and posted for exact same amount today. Lol wow. Gujob guy.

You could offer him something much less. Get the set somewhat started. Albeit all jacked up denoms. Lmao
 
If you do somehow get those chips from that guy, I might be willing to trade some barrels to help you even out your stacks. I would like some nickels, quarters and $5 chips. And could give up 3 barrels of $500, and 2 of $1000 and possibly some $25’s even though I like all of them. Lol

I appreciate the offer :), but I don’t think there’s going to be any reasoning with him based off the price he wants for that very very odd set.

It’s so hard to be motivated to even contact a person whose listing a used item for more than you can currently buy them new. I could offer him 50c a chip and I still wouldn’t be happy if he accepted because the denoms just don’t make any sense....such a shame, they look pretty much mint/unused, but they are basically a giant sample set lol.

Yea, i know, sucks that he has them listed as overpriced and not what you want and all you have in terms of lead on this. Sorry man, I would sell mine but I just got it and I love them.

I’m harvesting some singles from Winstar, and if I can find some reds eventually I may consider selling the cash set, but that will be a while. I don’t think I would ever move the tourney set, unless I get lucky on some other set.

I sent him a friendly message explaining the market and such, he responded with he’s moving and doesn’t really care, and that if they don’t sell at a slight price drop he will just and I quote “toss them”
