I got these with a case I wanted. They do look old, but are definitely plastic as well. I assume they are a good candidate for the kiddos to play with, but wanted to confirm - is there any such thing as valuable plastic (meaning straight plastic, not "ceramic"or various" clay" composition) chips?

There are high end plastic chip manufacturers such as Abiatti, Matsui, Bud Jones, B&G that make chips for casinos (and a couple will make customs for the regular Joes) that definitely are valuable.

Chips above are example of a custom Abiatti chip set that came to be through a group buy here.

The other kind of cheap plastic chips (like dice) that everyone and their grandmother owned a set of at the start of the poker boom of 2003/2004, not so much

I too recently bought some old cases that came with unwanted plastic chips. I think I have both those designs and a couple others. Been meaning to post up a similar thread before tossing mine in the trash. So thanks for starting this one. I'll post some pics too when I get home in a day or two. I have a couple others and one of them even has a little weight to it.

To clarify, I knew of high end plastic chips like the examples above. I just was looking for with basic plastics, is there ever a time that they aren't throw aways?

Anything "interlocking" is definitely trash.

Reminds me of the time one of these drove by...

... And my Mother in law exclaimed exclaimed that she "really likes Hummers!"

I couldn't help but agree!

BJs are best quality in societies where the post-modern hatred for men has not penetrated yet.
