I was thinking about putting a set of extensively worn chips together. I already have a $5 and $20 chip in mind. Is there anything out there in quantity in a $1 chip?

I'm looking for some Paulson bike tires.

The ones I use in my mixed casino set are as worn as I’ll tolerate. Not sure if they qualify as “excessively worn,” - maybe.
But there aren’t too many out there, so this probably isn’t a useful response.

That is about as worn as I could tolerate as well. I really like the colors of the ones

Thanks buddy; they’re pretty unique. I’m not sure what Paulson color that is, but you don’t see it too often. They’re from a California cardroom - seems like the most beat to hell chips are from the west coast.

The most worn $1 I've seen are pca's. But the most worn chips I have personally seen are garden City $20. Man have those puppy's seen some use.

I like the way you roll. I really started to like worn chips, after acquiring & cleaning some California Bell chips (and also flattening a few warped ones). I even built 2 separate sets of Cal Bells -- one with really worn chips (almost all the $5s and $20s are really worn), and one with standard wear. The really worn chips will fit 21 (almost 22) to a barrel in a 66.7mm Paulson rack, while the 'normal' used California Bell chips will still fit only 20 to a barrel in a 66.7mm Paulson. See pic below for comparison - this is a Paulson rack and each barrel has 20 chips.

So, it depends what level of wear you're looking for. On the scale of whether they fit 20 or 21 chips to a barrel (in 66.7mm rack, which is important), here is a list of some $1 chips I've seen up close below. Note, this is just from memory and the fact that I have kept these chips in racks (if they fit only 20), or in flat cases, if they fit more than 20. (I'll edit and correct later, when I have a chance to get chips out to look closer.)

List of $1 chips that:
Fit 21+ chips to a barrel easily
Cal Bell (really worn)

Fit 21 chips sometimes
PCA primary (well used)

Worn, but still fit only 20 chips to a barrel
Eldorado Club
Casino Aztar Missouri primary
California Bell (normal)
Horseshoe Cleveland
Horseshoe Cincy

There are also some used Paulson solid roulette chips (with Top Hat & Cane mold, not the roulette mold) that have seen a lot of use and will fit 21 per barrel, if it might work to relabel a chip as a $1.

My Double Down Paulson set is pretty worn, but the 5's more than the 1's for sure. A stack of 20 5's is noticeably shorter than 1's and that bugs me a little.

I'm really liking the looks of the Cal Bell and the Huntington Park. Definitely would prefer something that fits 21 to a barrel.

@Frank do you know if the HP ran 21 a barrel?

Some good info in this thread, thanks to all that contributed.

I can't remember if I ever put them in 66.7mm racks. I'd like to say I'm 90%-99% sure that they'd fit 21 to a barrel.

@kmccormick100 had a set of them too. Maybe he could confirm? I thought his might have been in slightly better shape though.
