Not Mine Argosy chips (1 Viewer)

make that 8 racks of the $5's and 4 racks of the $25's left.
At .65¢ not sure why there's any left at all.

Now just need to find some $1's.....

I don't know why I just purchased some of these... I don't really have a use for them but I couldn't resist at that price

exactly.
Not sure why I purchased them as now I'll be on the hunt for some $1's plus taking the time to remove the foil.

Some of this person's previous auctions were just incredible. Rack of Argosy 500's, Rack of PNY 100's all for super cheap. Should have been paying attention closer!

Can You remove the starburst stamp easily?

There was some discussion of this during the recent group buy of the same chips. The short answer is "yes" you can somewhat easily remove the foil using non-acetone nail polish remover. However, the indent/damage to the plastic covering the inlay will remain. How much that bother you is another question. It also makes these less than ideal for relabeling.

He also sold new horseshoe casino hundos for $85-$100 a rack.

i thought about buying a rack, to relabel as "The Silks" 5's, but by the time i made up my mind, all sold. Oh well, guess im going with the 5 dollar plaques for that set instead.

dammit, I literally was buying them with 4 left of the $5s peach/light blue spotted and all gone.

At least I was buying them to add onto my low limit set from Danny. I was able to get 3 racks of the other $5s, so now I got 300 $5s that don't match the 75 $5s I have. Maybe someone out there needs 75 $5s?? My price is a bit higher though.

there was some discussion on the H/Q Noble buyout thread and if I recall, it is relatively easy.

It's easy. Just not pleasant., USE NON-ACETONE nail polish remover. ACETONE will DESTROY YOUR CHIPS!

This is the guy I ran the original two PNY group buys with. He's likely sitting on a ton of them.

Thanks.
I've contacted him to see if he has any $1s available. We'll see...
Looks like Josh/Apache (or someone else) had pretty good success removing the stamp from the Argosy chips on his site. I don't think a relabel job would be required based on his pics.

It was me that removed them. I owned all the Argosy's before I traded them to Danny.

Did you relabel, remove the stamp or keep as is?

I removed the stamp using HQ's method. I had one rack of $1's a while back but couldn't get any more so I sold them and got some live $1's from the Hollywood (which used to be Argosy). Same hot air balloon inlay - just different name on the chips.

Well if the $1's are that hard to come by, i may not be holding onto the $5s and $25s very long.

Would you mind elaborating on your process? i.e. did you just use a cotton ball damped in the acetone or a toothbrush..

Mint Condition Chips for relabeling at this price is a no brainer.......

You can also scrape off the H/S.

If someone here got a rack or 2 of the $25s and for whatever reason doesn't want to keep them, just drop me a line... Thanks guys!

If anyone has a couple spare hotstamped argosy chips they don't need I'd buy them. I would like to experiment with the hotstamp removal/inlay removal (if need be) without risking destroying one of the chips from a complete rack.
