G'day cobbers (;)),

Expression of interest (EOI) only at this stage, but seeing as these ARIA's look the goods, was wondering if anyone else down under is wanting some of these chipes. Looks like the best way to get them is to do our own Aussie Group Buy. We will liaise with @TX_Golf_N_Poker and @Johnny5 for permission to use/tweak the artwork etc... and gratefully draw upon the the experience and knowledge of those who have gone before us (inc. the one and only @SeanGecko ).

For further info, this is from @TX_Golf_N_Poker 's recent post -

"I just confirmed pricing with Tina yesterday. Cost per chip is remaining at 28 cents. Her shipping estimate for 20,000 chips is $851, so roughly 4.25 cents a chip. In addition, I know previous large group buys have also incurred various banking and wire transfer fees, and I may need to purchase a few shipping supplies. So I’m going to use 5 cents per chip at this time to cover all those expenses and allow for a possible shipping increase / fudge factor. Once we have all the exact amounts, we will make adjustments to the totals paid by you and provide each buyer with a credit against your final shipping payment due assuming these expenses come in below that amount. And finally, I also want to adequately compensate @Johnny5 for all the work he has put in on this project, so we’ll be adding 2 cents per chip ordered that will go straight to him.

Therefore, at the time you place your order, I will be collecting 35 cents per chip. We will settle up on adjustments and final shipping cost to you after the chips are produced and on their way to me."

UPDATE with info from Tina;

Still waiting to hear from Tina regarding a shipping quote to Australia for 10K chips (she doesn't appear to want to give one but said DHL or UPS would be the carriers). It appears that will probably been in the vicinity of $500-$600USD judging by the US shipping for 19K chips. Lets say $600USD for worst case scenario.

For 10K chips they will be 28cUSD/chip. + shipping (6cUSD/chip) + Australian custom charges (15%) (5cUSD/chip) = Approx. 39cUSD/chip (52cAUD/chip). Could be more, but could be about right.
+ approximately $20AUD domestic re-shipping from Brisbane.

Tina also seemed to want to arrange a pick up from a local airport to save on shipping, but again, has not provided details of how that would occur or how much that would cost.

INDIVIDUAL ORDERS (or small combined orders may be the way to go)

If you just want ARIA'S without any changes and just want an individual order of 1,500 - 2,000 chips, Tina gave a quote and shipping:

For that many chips it would be 32cUSD/chip + $228USD (15cUSD/chip) to $268USD (13cUSD/chip) shipping = 47cUSD/chip (64cAUD/chip) to 45cUSD/chip (62cAUD/chip). It would cost you $200.00AUD more for a 2K individual chip order.

So far we only have a couple of interested parties, but not enough for 10K chips. I'm not phased if we don't go ahead as it was just an interest gauging thing and I didn't have my heart set on it.

Hey mate, I mentioned this to @davislane the other day and was considering the same thing.

I am 100% in. I haven't worked out full breakdown yet, but let's say ~1000 chips.

Awesome, noted :). I thought a few would be considering it haha.
I'm a maybe. I don't own a cash set anymore lol. I was considering cpc but this could be a good option for the price
Great Mike, maybe is good enough for now mate :)

Good Luck! Let me know if I can help. I will let John know this is underway next time I talk to him.

Just FYI - the cost for the chips has been .28 but the rest of the cost basis involves freight shipping to the US. Also, the US doesn’t have any import taxes or customs fees. I don’t know the import tax situation in AUS. For some reason freight shipping from Tina to Canada was more expensive. And for some reason they couldn’t freight ship to other countries leaving the significantly more expensive and cost prohibitive air shipping as the only option. IIRC the European GBs were seeing some pretty high costs. The magic 10,000 chip number is relevant only to the US GBs as it is primarily driven by the cost of the freight shipping, not the cost of the underlying chips manufactured.

My only point is to note that you shouldn’t put too much faith in the price mentioned above. It may be a little cheaper or it may be much more expensive. After you get somewhat of an indication of volume definitely reach out to Tina and get a sense of the situation regarding shipping and taxes. If you need help I can connect you.

If we can swap the inlays from tourney to cash, I'd probably get a set.
So to be clear, I'd like the tourney chips with cash inlays.

The inlay art on the cash and tournament chips use the identical same colors and fonts. There is no difference between them. Unless you are saying you want the smaller cash denominations on the colors of the tournament chips. If so, then you are in a huge minority, and I would suggest you probably need to get your own custom artwork done for you.

All the chips in this set were designed to look as much as possible like the actual Aria casino chips. (without getting into too much trouble for copyright infringement) From $1 all the way to the T100,000 we tried to get as close as possible to the actual casino chip colors. Even the fracs are based on actual Aria chips. The quarter chip uses the Aria $3 chip colors and the nickel chip uses the Aria $10 chip colors.

Unfortunately it's not possible to please everyone in a large group buy such as this. Fortunately though, we do have several talented artist's at our disposal, and any of them would be happy to design a custom set for you. Several others have done just that, and have placed orders directly with Tina for custom cards mold chips. Prices will be a little bit higher, but you should expect that for custom chips. They are still far less expensive than a custom set of CPC or custom labeled Paulson chips.

Good Luck! Let me know if I can help. I will let John know this is underway next time I talk to him.
Thanks mate, that is awesome of you :)
Im in.
I don’t have a tourney set. Was considering a set.. especially for the price.
Noted mate :)

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate that. Will get a quote from Tina, but use this as a bit of a ballpark figure :)

Hey Paul, I hear you, but just at the moment we're going off what is in the pics to gauge interest. See @TX_Golf_N_Poker 's advice re the artwork.

Will explore this with J5 when the time comes :)

Cheers all,
Adam

Vaguely interested but almost entirely dependent on final shipped and taxed price to my door.

If AUD continues to tumble and final price ends up being more like $0.45-50 USD per chip then this goes straight from "tempting cool looking cheap chips I don't need and won't use" straight to "Do I really really need another mediocre set just because it's decently priced territory"?
