Interest (CLOSED) ARODIE mold - lark on my go-kart (1 Viewer)

Creating a new mold and cup for CPC costs ~ $75K.

There has been a lot of interest historically in the arrowdie (ARODIE) mold. It was an actual casino mold in the 50s and 60s, and it’s amazing with chip sets and inlays that are throwback in nature. I’ve shuffled a stack and IMO nothing would feel or shuffle or look more like a casino mold in the CPC lineup that ARODIE.

A few years ago, JimB tried to get the sole remaining ARODIE cup working. Sadly (infinitely sadly) it was too worn out to reliably create consistently acceptable chips.

I would like to explore crowdfunding the resurrection of one of the all time great molds in ARODIE. We would need people to commit to contributing 75K in total to get the mold and cup created. Ownership of the mold would reside with CPC (because 50+ people owning something is a nightmare) but I’m hopeful that they would give the folks that initially funded the mold a discount on an ARODIE set.

Post here if you’d be willing to spend some money to resurrect this great mold and get some amazing chips created.

I know it would complicate things significantly but I'll ask anyway - do you have any structures in mind where that $75k might be recouped by the original investors? Or are you envisioning a round of purely altruistic fundraising?

We’d need assurances from CPC that they can get this built and make chips with it before committing the money - the point of the thread is that without the demand, there’s no point in even asking if it can’t be funded.

Closing this thread as the dream is dead. Fremont Street casino owns the mold and per Spragg’s comments here, it’s not even feasible to create a new mold regardless for the most part, regardless of money.
