Ascona Sun-fly + chip breakdown (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone. I'm interested in buying a 300 chip set and have been looking at the asconas from sun-fly. Has anyone bought from them before? Do they have a good reputation? Also do people recommend the Asconas? Has anyone actually bought these from sun-fly?

They're decently priced (FREE SHIPPING) and look very nice however they're missing lower denominations as it's a high stakes/tourney set. I want to use it for .20/.20 games or .25/.25 games so I was thinking what if I use the blank chip as 20c or 25c. I can then use $1 and $5 chips as well. What do u guys think of this idea? Also I'm unsure how many of each denom to get. We usually play .10/.20 with $20 buy in but I think switching to .20/.20 will be fine.

I was thinking 10x20c / 13x$1 / 1x$5 starting stacks and then using $5 and $1 for rebuys. What do you guys think of this structure? Also I need help determining the total amount to order. We usually play 8 handed and I want to accommodate for 2-3 rebuys per person. I'm open to buying more chips but I'm not sure if it's needed. I wouldn't be against upping to a 400 or 500 set but I'd rather 300. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

What would you say the typical buyin will be? Heck, I’ve been having fun playing 50 big blinds for some of our smaller games, keeps the chip stack flexible and more geared for the higher stakes games

We typically play $20 buy in 100bb and it works perfectly for us at the moment. Rebuys are usually 10 or 20 bucks

This keeps it simple. The vendors I buy chips from usually make it so you have to order in groups of 25. I hope this helps

Sun Fly chips are great quality. I've never tried their stock items, but the customs obtained from PCF group buys are fantastic!

I have a sample stack of asconas and personally really like them. They feel very 'ceramic' and the design is very coherent. My only concern is you need to watch out for dirty stacks, many of the denoms look very similar and the colours are soft and pastelly.

They are my front runner for a tourney set.

I only have some samples but will go ahead with them if I ever need a tourney set.

By looking at the images uploaded you can see that in profile the no value and 5's are almost identical colourways; they will be constantly confused I feel.

I personally went for a 400 chip cash set mainly aimed at 6max which is working really well. I think 300 chips plus one banknote could work for 6 max but 300 chips only for 8-10 just won't function.

My plan for the asconas would be a 300 chip 8max tourney set which will work perfectly
