So I just got my color samples from CPC, and I'm a little surprised that the even bright chips seem slightly muted/less vibrant compared to Paulsons (I've got them side by side with Pauslon BCC JBs which are obviously very bright chips). Is this by design, or is it a matter of recipe/proprietary info? Kind of hard to believe they couldn't tweak a few colors to be brighter if they really wanted to. I love the color set either way, no complaints, just curious.

oil them, no joke, they begin to pop

CPC are also slowly bringing out new colors also. eg. Saturn and Tiger.

Yea, I oiled them up a bit and it definitely made a lot more color pop, but even the new dayglo colors are still noticeably less bright than most of the palette for the JBs.

Also...let's not forget contrast, which can make a huge difference. With right color combos the colors really pop up.
There are folks around here, who really are experts in combining colors.

I would not be surprised if the cost of producing those extra DG colors we want is considerable. - DG Peacock please!!!
It seems like the cost of doing anything new turns out to be pretty formidable. It wouldn't shock me if the cost and time of new colors was scary.

Still would love a brilliant blue though. Definitely feels like a hole in the color palat to me.
