So I was supposed to be listing this as my next Chip Pick, but that isn't happening because I can't let these chips go. For $0.15 per chip (actually more like $0.10 if you back out the value of the 3 wooden cases and 15 wooden racks), I acquired 1500 Roman Mold Blanks with 312 spots, all in unused condition.

Here is the breakdown

Red ($5) - 1000
Green ($25) - 400
Black ($100) - 50
Purple ($500) - 50

Since the Roman Mold is my favorite, I would ultimately like to stamp these chips and create a custom set, but for now, I need to optimize the cash set playability. In order to do that, I will need 500-600 $1 chips, ideally blue or white with the 312 spot pattern. I understand that this is a tall order, but I need to give it a shot.

If you have blue or white (main priority), or any colors in excellent condition with 312 spots, please let me know as I may be interested.

Thanks so much!

Damn, I bought a nice set of these exact chips from ASM about 20 years ago. I had 300+ of the blue 312 chips. I ended up selling them about 6 or 7 years ago on Craigslist because I preferred playing with my super diamonds lol (too many spinners). Doh!

I wouldn't be surprised if a PCF member "picked" them from me though. Good luck with the search. They're not easy to find.

Those would look AWESOME with a Russian Bear stamped on them :D

Good luck with your search!!(y)

Before you go nuts looking for more chips, I would check with a hot stamper. IIRC, not only do asms get harder to stamp as they get older (more brittle), but I don't think this mold stamps well, there's no recess in the chip center (you'd get lots of spinners once stamped, even if scraped). Hoping I'm wrong but I would check with a stamper like monkeydog or cory first.

Great pickup! I would contact Jim B. of ASM, although I don't know if he's on here. You never know what he may have laying around. Good luck with "the search."

Very good idea! Also perhaps @David Spragg might be able to locate some old stock that would work? Not sure how much stuff is kicking around the new facility, but it seemed there was always cool stuff around the old ASM place in Portland.

@SuckoutKing does not stamp anymore, but he's done thousands of ASM chips and should have the answer to this question.

FYI I already contacted CPC about my Roman molds and they won't stamp anything that isn't fresh from the press.

If your looking for a nice ASM hot stamped set. I would look elsewhere Roman mold one of the worst chips for stamping. As mentioned no recessed area and leads to tons of spinners.

Thanks all for the feedback. It is greatly appreciated. The ASM Roman mold hotstamp set idea looks to be out, which is fine. Even as blanks, these are beautiful chips, so any leads on the blue or white chips that @MG20 posted above would be helpful. Ideally, I will use whites as $1 and blues as $0.25, but if the blues become available in bulk, I can skip the $0.25 idea and just use them as $1.

Thanks again for the continued support!

Thanks to @MG20 for the chips! Now I have a rack of blues and whites that could be used as $1s, depending on the availability of either color. If you have either of the chips below and would be willing to sell, please hit me up. Thanks!

Bumping this to see if anyone has some.

Also, since my color perception is horrible, can anyone out there tell me the ASM color names for the bases and spots for both the white and blue chips above? (I can take my own pics later instead of stealing if need be :D)

Thanks so much!

The blue chip looks like (regular) blue with (regular) white spots
The white chip looks like (regular) white with (regular) green spots

The green spots could be retro green, but if there are flakes in the green, then it is (regular) green.

Thanks so much! I wasn't sure if ASM was similar to Paulson in that there are 89 different colors, many of which are different shades of a handful of colors. Much appreciated!

I know someone has these laying around in a drawer somewhere, or in those old ASM wooden crates. Thanks!

Spinettis has a bin of mixed random chips on different molds with some of these in there. I don't know how many he has, but you might want to call them to see what they have.

Thanks so much man. I spoke with Bobby from Spinettis a few weeks ago and they only had a handful of blue and (off) white base chips, only 1 or 2 chips matched my chips. I asked them to keep me in mind if they get more in. Much appreciated!

Pardon me for asking, but where can I get some of those wooden chip racks?

They come with a specific type of wooden case that was used for ASM chips. I don't recall ever seeing them for sale new, but they do pop up used on Craigslist once in a while. I'll keep you in mind if I find them

Bumping this thread. Need $1 chips to put this set in play and I'll take either of these chips.

Bump. Though the chips below are what I need (in bulk), I'll take any white or blue Roman mold blanks with the 312 spot pattern, regardless of spot color. I just want to put these in play. Thanks!
