I've had these roulette solids sitting for a good while, unsure what to do with them, then I saw @TheRealTeddyKGB Tiffany's solids relabel set and felt inspired. Then I was able to get my hands on a few racks of the Atlantic Maritime $1's, et voila, I had a good theme to build around. Murdering the roulettes is still a work in progress, but I went ahead and had @timinater work up some labels for me.
This is what I have to work with currently colors-wise. The oranges are in the worst shape, so I would like to use those sparingly. Sea green $.25, sherbert $5. The roulettes are incredibly heavy, almost obnoxiously so, but we will get to that later.
Here's a preview of the new labels, I had timinater make a couple of small changes to make the label distinct from the original.
My task now is to find a couple of suitable colors for the other denoms I want. I might want to exclude the oranges entirely, given their condition, so I need to find a suitable $25 and $100. Now, what is tricky is the weight of these roulettes. The $1's are already lighter by nearly 2g a chip, so I'd like to keep the rest heavy. Matching condition is also important, so I’m hoping finding more of these inlaid roulettes will lend itself to a good match. I know these generic inlaid roulettes exist in multiple colors as shown below, but which do we think I should go after?
I'll keep this thread updated as I slog through this process. Paper labels are a huge PITA to murder, and the chips I have are pretty dirty. I've been having a lot of success with soaking them in hydrogen peroxide to remove the stains, especially on the sea greens. I also never realized I would be so perturbed by having LCV and SCV's mixed together, but once you stare at them long enough they really do look quite different. Looks like only the sea greens are mixed, though.
TLDR; relabel set, pick a color for me to go after for a $25 and $100.
