Here are some pics. The chips are in great condition (near mint? very good+?). Edges are sharp with just a few small nicks. There is some kind of slight particulate coating the chips (hard to describe but you can kinda see it in the 4th picture below). I'm not sure if this is from use (seems unlikely since they are otherwise in such great shape) or if this is part of the chip design. I've looked at a bunch of pictures and I think it might be the latter. I would run these through my ultrasonic but it bit the dust :-(

Note that the little dot on each chip is not a cancellation. It is a small crystal that was included in the higher CP denoms as a security feature.

So what is the little dark "birthmark" on all these large-denomination chips? You can see the microdot, so that's not its function...

Thanks!

I think it is some old school RFID.... Don't quote me on that, I can't even remember where I heard that from, but I am like 70% sure I'm not just making it up on my own. (y)

$100's and above have a unique security feature that I have only seen on crystal park chips - there is a 'crystal' imbedded in the chips. If you hold it up to the light you can see through it.

OK, I just found out that I have a box of CPs -- guess I'll have to go and take a look....son of a gun, you're right! Thanks!

We need to get a macro shot of one of those....
