Note that these auction houses usually charge a “buyer’s premium” (sometimes as high as +30%) on top of the winning bid, so read the fine print if interested.

Note that you can usually access such auctions through multiple sites (liveauctioneers and invaluable are two that I have used). If one doesn’t work for you, another may.

Actually, I'm now glad that my bidding was refused. The chips look a lot more beat up than I initially thought.

Was hoping to grab my first real set with this auction but it quickly got out of my price range with the 25% buyers fee, tax and shipping.

You'll find better in the Classifieds, really. Better condition alone worth the price vs. in this auction.

There was a 22-chip lot of actual production design Paulsons that were made for (but not used in) License to Kill in a separate searchable auction on that site. Top hat and cane, cash chips x5 with red background graphic on the inlay, and 17x roulettes in 6 colours with black background graphic.

I put in a big bid but the set ended up going for $3250 plus almost $1000 buyer's premium, so someone was willing to pay $200 per chip. Considering they are unobtainium, probably a reasonable price overall.

Someone else told me about this after the fact. I wish I would’ve known. I definitely would have gone in with someone else to make a bid :-(
