Hi all,
I am a serial lurker who has been in and out of the poker chipping scene constantly over the last few years (mainly due to working in the UK and then having to fly back and forth to Australia.. and now being "stuck" in Australia due to international borders being closed).
Here's my situation.. any input/thoughts/comments welcome:
- I currently have 3 poker chip sets:
1) A "home cash" set - 500 chip set of Port Royals Ceramics (acquired locally in Australia from Jackspoker)
2) A "home tournament" set - 600 chip set of Majestics CC's (bought these from Apache when I was living in London) - just sold these to a friend
3) A "travel/road trip" set - 300 chip set of Tiki King Ceramics (my pride and joy that I had shipped from the US).
Having just sold my Majestics... I will also be selling my Port Royals.. visually they are beautiful chips, but the feel compared to the Tiki Kings.. there's just no point keeping them. My travel set just ends up being the ones everyone likes playing with more even at home. So this brings me to my situation.... I am now on the market for a new "home" set (tournament or cash.. maybe both... ).
After doing my usual lurking research and being mindful of the shipping costs to Australia, I am leaning towards getting the Prestige (but in 39mm) set from Sun-Fly. When I convert the costs into Australian dollars, it's roughly ~$600 AUD shipped for 500 chips, which isn't too bad since 500 custom ceramic chips here in Australia is also around $600 AUD. I have my samples of the Prestige, but they are in 43mm. So I was hoping there are some folks here who have the same chip in both 43mm and 39mm that can offer some input on the differences (aside from the chip sizes) between the two.
Also, having seen the colours available... I really dislike green chips, so I'm thinking of getting the White NCV Prestige chip printed for my $25 chip. Thoughts on a White $25 chip? (And anyone have a pic of how a barrel of White Prestige looks stacked up next to the Black Prestige on the felt?)
