mixed bag
will probably sell them off
the petunia color is the bomb (almost better than blurple)
I wish I had made them to work with another set

the design was in sidepot's (chip talk) competition for a new retail BCC set (up against Protege)
after Protege won these were made on ASM Fleurs (?) mold
I was late on that one and they offered to make these on the current (in production) Roman mold
pics to follow
(the only Avalon Clubs ever made on that mold)
after that the hot-stamp version went to Apache for their retail suits mold group buy

Amazing thread, thanks for posting these. I gave a set of Paulson Avalons to a friend in 2008, I recently asked him about them and he said he didn’t know where they are!

Semi-custom Paulsons at a buck apiece, those were the days. I had no idea there were CPC Avalons, I believe the designer went by “Imthatguy” on Chiptalk. Not sure if he’s on here.

Thanks so much for sharing.

I am very embarrassed that (only) after a decade I cannot remember many of the old CT names
but yes, he was from Toronto and a graphic designer and chipper

BEAUTIFUL chips!! I was unaware that anybody had pink 100s made on the suits mold, and was definitely unaware that a roman mold set existed. Also the first time I've seen the petunia fracs. You're just full of firsts today :)
roman mold was a standard selection at the time
& surprised it dropped off the map
a beautiful but very lightweight chip

A few years back I reached out to William Coughlan...can't remember his CT screen name...he created the Protege design.
Still doing design work but not into chipping anymore.

And no, he didn't have any stock available (obv I asked) but had a full sample set only ;)

I am not much of a sample collector, but these would be a beautiful and historic collection framed up on my wall.
If any one has, PM me.
@Thomacetti : have him send you all artwork mock-ups available!

Very nice set. I once considered getting a full set but only managed a few racks of 500s (purple) and 1000s (yellow).

historic content now discovered:

Are there any restrictions on these works of art? What if I decide to reproduce them again on CPC forms?
