Howdy folks,
I was big on chip collecting for a while about 10-15 years ago. I was able to get in on a few big group buys from another chip site and bought and sold a number of sets. It was fun and I enjoyed sharing my chip sets with friends and family. I've owned a Paulson James Bond set, Samurai Palace set, Chipco "WSOP" set and a PNY set. I was never big on tournaments so I focused on building chips for cash games. Looking back, I realized I made some mistakes in what I kept, sold, didn't buy and in some of the chip breakdowns (what was I thinking getting so many of the smallest denomination chips?). But I enjoyed it.
Oddly, I got out of it because PA opened a number of casinos and I no longer needed my own chips to play--I could just go to the casino!
I'm revisiting my sets now and have rekindled the fire. It seems things have changed a bit so I feel like I've got a lot to learn. Hopefully, after getting back up to speed, I'll be able to put together another set!
Thanks!
