I have a mighty set of Bahamia chips, the most I have in any set. {Image not up to date, things have come and gone.}

There are more $25s than anything else. Not much good for a cash game, but perfect for a tournament. I was approached by the local Rotary Club to host a poker tournament to benefit their reading program. I was happy to help and elected to put the Bahamia set into play.

We will play with only $5s and $25s, and eventually only $25s after chipping out the $5s

Hey! That nine lost me a big pot.

This will be our second place winner

An he wins first place

Heads-up begins and the blinds are already high

Second chance to find the winner

OK, this is the final all-in hand, we have had something like ten of them already. Quite an epic heads up final given the blinds are crushingly high.

And a cash game picture from the next day.

Best thing of all? I get to add three new players to the invite list and each of them has made one of the subsequent cash games!

That is my tournament timer. When the bomb goes off, the blinds go up. It sits on the table so everyone can see how much time is left.

I made a huge effort to make TV in the poker room "impossible". I filled the cut out in the wall intended for a flat screen with poker stuff and hung a picture over the wall plate and cable outlet. My games move slow enough as it is. If the players could watch sports on TV, the game would grind to a stop. So I don't have any fancy electronic tournament software because I don't want a screen in the room. I rarely host anything but cash games - the bomb works fine for the few tournaments that I have.

One $5 Millenium? All those beautiful Bahamias and only one steenkin' Millenium?

AAARRRGGGHHH!!!! :cool:

what kinda tournament was that? likes very simple structured... good job on the hosting of the tournament.. looks like a good night

It was a fast event. The organizers wanted the event to last two hours with a hard end time. Starts at 7:45 ends no later than 9:45. The blinds almost double every 15 minutes. Special rule: a forced chop at 9:45 based on chip count. Half the buy-ins went to charity, second place gets their buy-in back and the winner gets the rest.

Yes we did have a good time -=- DrStrange
