Wouldn't this be a good opportunity to try a Mr. Clean magic eraser?
What I'm sure of that you have to avoid any hard mechanical action. Unlike the highly resilient Bud Jones chips, B&G chips are fragile. While doing tests, I noticed that the chips could be altered with cleaning.
Too much cleaning could aggravate damages already present (not my photos):View attachment 282055
@AK Chip So is the dirt buildup around the label/sticker edges? This is where buildup is usually concentrated on Bud Jones. Gentle hand washing is usually all it takes to remove that.
That scratching & gouging on the rolling edge is scary.
I did not know what a rock tumbler was. But now, I want one!
Is it really true? There have been times when people have advocated using them to artificially age their "too mint" chips.
I haven't received the chips yet, just going off Stas saying they will need to be cleaned from casino use. I'm concerned the stickers/labels would get damaged?I've cleaned Bud Jones (hot stamped) plastic in the ultrasonic before without any problems. Any reason to believe that these wouldn't fare as well?

I will test a few out. That would be ideal if it works! Are they unlaminated paper? I would think anything that's laminated, or anything that's vinyl, would be safe in the U/S.
What did you use TSP wise?I've cleaned Bud Jones (hot stamped) plastic in the ultrasonic before without any problems. Any reason to believe that these wouldn't fare as well?

There is nothing like that "authentic, straight-outta-lake-meade, old Las Vegasy destroyed chips" look...There have been times when people have advocated using them to artificially age their "too mint" chips.
