So far best I've got is asking a blackjack dealer for 10 $1's at a time, play 1 bonus, play 1 for the dealer, put 6 in my pocket kind of thing. Wait a while, do it again. Then move to the next table. Is there a better way?

What are some games that use a lot of $1's?

I've never heard of, or even thought of, that you could get chips this way. Of course, it will be quite expensive, but on the other hand, you will get your money back. Where did you get these chips?

Is it possible to play a table game like pai gow and just ask for a bunch of 1s. Say you like playing with a lot of chips. Plus pai gow is a relatively low risk game.

Just ask the cage for a rack. Sort out and return the crappy ones.

If you need a story, tell them you're coming back in a few weeks for a bachelor party and you want to give each of person in the bridal party $20 and you want to try and give them the nicest $1s.

Some cages won’t let you buy chips directly. My casino is one of them. Generally a blackjack or carnival game will have at most 60 $1 chips. They generally would not sell you chips to take off the table as they would have to refill them. Pocketing chips a few at a time can be expensive if you’re having to play a table game. My best advice would be to try a craps table or a roulette table. Our craps table keeps almost 600 $1s and our roulette around 200. Chat up the dealers and find the nicer ones. Tell them that you collect chips and ask if you could buy some off of them. As long as you’re not leaving them short on $1 chips, they’ll probably sell you some. Perhaps a barrel or two. It’s even easier if the dealers keep their own tips. Tip them for selling you some chips.

Take a trip somewhere where they have a card room....

Or better yet find someone here that is a regular at a cardroom that is a willing harvester.

I’ve had luck at the cage requesting chips for souvenirs. I usually ask for 20, which raises an eyebrow. So I settle for 10. This has worked for $1, $2, & $2.50 chips.

Repeated attempts could got you to a rack. The need for better condition chips is understood.
