So I had someone pick up a big stash of chips for me today.

The lot includes 7 lockable chip trays full of chips, and 3 or 4 millk crates full of roulettes.

I think it is somewhere around 8 to 10k chips total.

My question is, what is the best way to have them shipped?

I am thinking just go to the fed ex or UPS store and have them package and ship the chips for me. I dont have any experiance doing this though. So I'm wondering what the cost might be, or if there is a better way to do it?

I don't have really good pics of the chips yet, but when I do i will post em.

I'll give a teaser though........

They are all from copa casino gulfport Mississippi, a casino boat that washed up in Katrina

Looks to be about 5k chips and maybe 4k roulettes

No chips are for sale at this time, and I'm not sure weather or not any of them are going to be.

Just looking to get them home safely at this time and start sorting through them.

Thanks

Colter

You are my hero.

On a boat and still score a fantastic load of chips.

Personally. I have no experience doing this. I'd just pay to have UPS pack and ship the lot. You have never seen them, so any damage or wear. well just part of the deal. (they are not mint chips anyway)

I would say see if a member is around. I wouldn’t trust a company. If your friend is willing get bubble mailers and wrap chip in that then box them up.

Where are they?

(talk to me if you want to unload a few racks of $5)

Without giving away the farm, what state are these located in? I am confident you can find someone on here you can trust.

They were bought in Texas. A family member of mine drove up this morning from lousiana to pick them up. (About a 3 hour drive) They are all in hand and safe and secure.

I dont mind paying extra for a place to box and ship them. I have inconvenienced my family member enough and just trying to work out the best/easiest way for them to get them shipped out. As long as they would be safely shipped.

I see some chips that arnt in the chip guide. The center rows in the stacked boxes look like maybe 500s? Looks like a purple base

I was thinking that too from the photo, it definitely looks like a 500. Maybe some kind of slot pattern like this too

I got some suggestions here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/shipping-6000-chips.33019/

But ended up making Forrest pack them in FRBs  :ROFLMAO:

Yeah I'm just trying to make it easy on the person who picked them up for me. I'm thinking FedEx or ups.

Is there any reason to think that they wouldnt be safe in their hands?

I know it's going to be more expensive, but if it's easier and I can just get them packed well and shipped I'm willing to pay up.

My first thought was just to ship them was racks to purchasers from their current location... But OP says they're not for sale yet...

In that case, I'd have the family member hold on to them for 55 days, then go pick them up myself and drive them home.

Wow nice haul man! Congrats.

I personally wouldn’t trust fedex or ups (or any nonchipper for that matter) to pack any chips. At the very least I would suggest putting them in chip boxes and then having them packed from there. The main goal is to eliminate chips from moving around while in transit.

If you can find enough chip boxes, could you ask them to pack them in those and then have fedex/ups package them?

Near San Antonio? Got the All In at the Alamo coming up the first of Aug. Surely a trusted chipper could pick them up if so.

I probably have a hundred or so boxes at home. I don't know if she would be willing to box them all up though.

I'm thinking about maybe just waiting till I get home and driving down to pick them up.

I dont know if I gave specific instructions to the shippers and paid extra I would think they could package them sufficiently.

Going to talk with the person that picked them up again in the morning and try and work out the safest and easiest way for all involved.

@DoubleEagle

I was suppose to go to all in at the Alamo. Unfortunatley work has gotten in the way and I'm super disappointed that I can't make it. I believe San antonio is about 7 hours away so I probably wouldnt ask someone to make that drive and then package up all the chips and send them out.

So looks like my brother is going to make the drive down for me to go pick them up. Hopefully I'll have them in hand by Sunday morning.

Got a few more pics.... still waiting on better ones of the chips in the cases.

The overall condition appears better than expected, and the roulettes appear to mostly be purple thc paulsons!

What a great score! Any story behind how you managed to get these?

Look forward to seeing more pics once you have them in hand

Those Fuschia 5's are T5 tourney chips, aren't they? The roulettes have the really big numbers in the middle with a serif font, like the green ones in the crate.

Yeah your right, I guess they are tournament 5s.

The guy said he had 4 milk crates of roulette chips. I guess that's why I got stuck on calling them roulettes.
