I just bought a Condado Bud Jones set where the $500 and $1000 are 43mm, $25 and $100 are 39mm. Looking for the best bird cage for these. I have 260 43 mm and 550 39mm.

I see Apache has the 43mm racks that hold 100. A previous thread mentioned some racks that hold 80, but couldn't find any of those.

This set will travel quite a bit -- my Poker league rotates to different houses. So something that can be handled by a drunk would be preferred. :D

I did the usual google search and it doesn't appear anyone has these.

I'm probably going to order some from Apache tonight. I have to drop off the chips and case before 12/10. So will be ordering the bird cage and some 43mm racks in the next few days. I have a few Paulson 39mm racks already.

standard 43mm racks won't fit in a standard bird cage --- they are too long.

@warewulf PM me if you want Matsui racks. Or photos of some so you can decide. You have a better chance of those fitting in a birdcage than the 43mm racks (which more certainly won't fit).
Also, the standard racks stack on the Matsui racks better than on the 43mm racks.

Also looking for what bird cages are recommended. The active set will probably be around 750. Don't know if putting them all in one cage will be manageable.

Maybe go a different direction and use standard 43mm racks but do a Pelican (or similar) travel case?

^^ Prolly a better travel solution.

My local Sam's Club has a Pelican knock off for around 20 bucks in the tool isle, might check yours, I know they don't all carry the same thing...or could check online

Anyone try this case with 43mm racks?

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I hope it's OK for me to post this here.

I do not have any more Matsui racks to offer. Sorry.

If anyone has anymore of the 43mm Matsui racks, I would love to get a few (could use up to 4). I have contacted Matsui, but they are all out and appear to only get more when they get samples in. Please let me know and thanks in advance.

Matsui racks are the way to go if you want to use a standard birdcage.

However, I would not recommend birdcages for frequent or unstable (read "drunk") handling. They just aren't real sturdy - especially the 1,000 count variety.

I ordered a bird cage. Thanks for everyone's input.

I'll give it a try since it's the least expensive option of the two. If it doesn't work, I'll bite the bullet later. The set will only travel maybe 3 times per year, so hopefully will hold up.

@Parrothedd

Which bird cage is that?

I received the Matsui racks from @liftapint and they don't fit in the DaVinci cage I linked to above, so will need to order another one.

I did find another possible 43mm alternative: I have an oak chip case that holds 5 oak chip racks. If you take out the racks, you can fit 4 Matsui racks in the case. There is some extra room in between the racks, but it could work. For now I'm going to order another bird cage though and return the one I got.

FYI - I added racks to the site if anyone is looking for them.

Those racks fit in most, but not all, of my bird cages.
