Wanted to put a feeler out there for most commonly used blinds for NL cash games. Slowly expanding and mixing things up on my end with couple different groups. Just state your buy in, min and max if you have it capped, and what the blinds are for those respective games.

While I (previrus - and yes it is still kinda shady here) spread different blind games (5c/10c, 10c/20c, 25c on the button, 25c/50c) the rules are always the same. Minimum buy in is 40BB. Max is 200BB. Feel free to reload at any time.

Depends on the crowd:
  • 25c/50c. Buy-in $20-$60, with max buy-in increasing $10 every hour
  • 50c/$1. Initial buy-in $100. Option to reload another $100 when your stack "looks low." Can reload $100 or $200 after two hours.

NL // Blinds 0.10 - 0.10 // Min. 5 - max. 10 // Can reload to reach up to 10 when stack is <= 5
NL // Blinds 0.10 - 0.20 // Min. 10 - max. 20 // Can reload to reach up to 20 when stack is <= 10
NL // Blinds 0.50 - 0.50 // Min. 25 - max. 50 // Can reload to reach up to 50 when stack is <= 25
FL 8-max // Limits 0.20 - 0.50 // Blinds 0.10 - 0.20 // Bring-in 0.10 // Table ante 0.20 // Reload if <= 10
FL 8-max // Limits 0.50 - 0.1 // Blinds 0.20 - 0.50 // Bring-in 0.20 // Table ante 0.50 // Reload if <= 20
FL 8-max // Limits 1 - 2 // Blinds 0.50 - 1 // Bring-in 0.50 // Table ante 1 // Reload if <= 40

I cover these limits with this set :

25c/50c -> first BI is 50, unlimited rebuys & you can add or buy-in even with biggest stack

We run 1 bomb pot every orbit + dealer choice

Most common game is .25/.50 Dealers choice with a 100 max buy in

1/1 HOPE rotation with a 100 max buy in

A couple of times a year we play 1/2 NLHE (sometimes mix in PLO r x r)

These are the games I've played recently

0.05/0.10 min $10 max $20 initial buy in dealer's choice

0.10/0.20 NLHE $20 maximum initial buy in with unlimited reloads/rebuys

0.25/0.50 NLHE $40 minimum $100 maximum initial buy in with unlimited reloads/rebuys

Though my friends don't mind a shallow stack to start with, I think it festers really tight play and turns into a shove fest when someone gets down to 20 to 25 BB's. I highly encourage my guys to buy in for at least 100 BB's initially.

My most commonly hosted game is 0.50-0.50 blinds with 60max buy in.

And 20 max dealers choice with 0.10-0.20 blinds. (ante-force for stud)

Ours are usually 5¢/10¢ with a $20 buy in. We've done 10¢/20¢ - $40 on occasion; and 25¢/50¢ with a max $100 buy in once.

My most common game is: .50/.50 with $100 initial buy in (which is also the max, min is $25, but most usually start 80-100). Rebuys up to half the big stack.

Sometimes will run the same but .50/1 - $200 initial buy

$.25/$.25 NL Hold'em/Pot Limit Omaha (round for round) unlimited straddles around to the button - No cap on the buyin. Generally everyone buys in for $40-$50 to start, but by the end of the night, the person most stuck usually ends up buyin in for something like $500 in an attempt to get unstuck.

$0.50-$0.50 blinds $100 buy-in with rebuys up to 50% biggest stack. Mostly play pot limit games.

Interesting to see that 200BB is preferred over 100BB as max buyin.

Great thread.

Used to run a 10¢/20¢ NLHE with $30 buy-in, $30 re-buy (usually only saw 2 or 3 a night).

Look to add a 25¢/50¢ or 50¢/$1 NL/PL game with a 50¢/$1 or $1/$2 FL game.

I could be wrong but I think that's a result of people playing very comfortable blind levels. That leads to larger openings which makes the game play a little shallower than the blinds indicate.

Similar to when you see average opening on $1/$3 to $12 and $2/$5 to $15.

When one is playing low stakes, I see a lot more straddles, bomb pots, etc, which also makes the game shallower.

$1/$2 NL & Crazy Pineapple
No min - No max
Most buy in from $200-$400
Reload when ever, for as much as you’d like. As long as you’re not in a hand.

Agreed on the tighter play with shallow stacks. I think it would be healthier for my group to transition from $20 to $50 in order to have more action earlier in the night. By midnight, our game usually ends up playing like a $1/$1 or $1/$2 but if we’re going to play like that anyway, may as well be earlier in the night so it’s action from start to finish.

Haven't run my game in years. Was about to restart when Covid hit.

$.25/.50 blinds for pot limit games
$1/2 bets for limit games, stud games have a $.50 dealer ante and $.50 bring-in.

$10-100 buy-in range. Most players bought in between $20-$50. Players have unlimited rebuys/add-ons up to the max.
Typically had 6-9 players.
