Looking for any of these.

Oh man... they ruined the chips! Giant goofy looking inlays. Now you can't really relabel any of the new chips because the big inlay would still show

Cheese and I are already planning a road-trip... Only a 3.5 hour drive from me.

Harvesting quarters sounds more +EV than my 1/2 game :)

Though we realized we'd probably never sell any of them.. Boo!

BTW, what games do they still use the quarters for? Can't imagine they have $.25/.50 pokerz... Seems like at a pit game, you'd need to play a few weeks to secure enough quarters to make a playable set, lol...

I think they are only available on the pai gow tables and are used to pay the dealer on certain bets. (no idea how that game works) That is what I heard anyway.

Pai gow poker is the only one that comes to mind (pays 4.50 on a 5 winning hand) - although all the casinos I've played this at just use a 50c coin. Quarters might be in play at other table games like three card poker, etc. but I don't play those often enough to know for sure. I'm guessing they're not at blackjack tables since they have a snapper.

That's true. So many casinos around me use icon, ceramic, or BJ's :/.

Ceramics have really grown on me over the last few years. I wouldn't harvest them from a casino for a playable set though when I can just get customs way cheaper. ;)

The person who got me the last few chips said they only sell 4 chips at a time.

Yeah, sounds about right. They only time I've seen fracs in play was on a cruise and they watched them like a hawk. I kept trying to sneak them into my pocket but almost always got busted - only managed to get one to dry land.

When I picked up my first 37 quarter chips from Horseshoe Indiana, it cost me about $340 in pai gow losses (and dealer tips) and over three hours time. And I had to pull teeth with the floorman to make them pay me in quarter chips, instead of the real U.S. quarter coins in the rack that the dealer was instructed to use. I told 'em I could play with loose change at home, and insisted on being paid in casino currency. The floor finally relented, but stated that the chips couldn't leave the table. Yeah, okay, sure.

Every time I amassed more than five quarter chips in my stack, they went in the shirt pocket. The dealer just smiled and looked the other way.

Just so when I list my full rack for $950 later this year, you'll know why. :D

Bwaa ha ha... OMG, totally thinking of ways we can smuggle these chips out... Shove them into a waterproof floating bag (with a GPS transponder), race to the rail, chuck them overboard, and then come back on a charter boat later to search for them...? I think Dave's $900 rack might be cheaper...
