A million thanks to all the harvesters and sellers that have done so much to help me through this collection project! For those who didn't know, I just celebrated my 50th birthday last month, and I thought it would be fun to celebrate by collecting barrels of live $1 chips (hence "BOLO", Barrel Of Live Ones) from all over Nevada. Here's the 50 Las Vegas collection (with a key)!

Now what, you ask? Well, this is a living collection, so as properties close down or rebrand, they will be removed and replaced with others. Obsolete chips will go into the BORDO collection (Barrel Of Recently Dead Ones), of which I have the Monte Carlo, SLS, Stratosphere, and Hard Rock LV (since by the end of the year this will be rebranded as Virgin). Who knows, maybe a collection from Europe, or perhaps the Far East...chippers gotta chip!

I started collecting live $1's from all the casinos that I've played poker in before. But that has topped out at about 23, so I think I'm going to expand it to all the casinos that I've visited. Who knows, after I'll come up with something else to expand and add to my collection. Lol

Display for the time being. But there's no reason I can't grab 10 or so similarly-coloured barrels and sub them in for $1s in a cash home game, right?

Well, like I said, casinos come and casinos go. As some go down and change hands, others will need to be found to take their place. And if I do net +1 each year, I've already got 2020's, which is a barrel of Sahara since the SLS rebranded. Next year's will probably be Virgin. As for outside of Vegas, the sky's the limit.

So which were the hardest to complete?

Well, the legwork wasn't done by me, but by my fellow friends and PCF members who took all the time and trouble to do the harvesting! The last two groups to finish out the project, by geographical region, were Wendover and Laughlin.

Cool project! But also a great reference for harvesting!

You know what, I never even thought of that. But if it helps others to target some casinos for harvesting, then it's a small benefit I will gladly return to this community! If anybody wants to ask me about the physical nature of any of these $1s on display, I'd be glad to share information. I'm happy to say that the vast majority of these live casinos still use Paulson clay! There are a handful of Bud Jones plastic, and maybe 1 or 2 ceramic in there. This is out of all 100.

Congrats! I’m kind of doing the same thing myself, though it’s more of with chips/casinos I just have to have. So some are not even live, or don’t even exist! I’m in no rush though because I have no set goal to reach, lol. My only question is, do you have to and if so, how do you deal with the cringe factor when you look upon it and realize just how much live money that actually represents? Lol. It briefly gets to me from time to time.

Cringe factor? Naw, that's only...WHAT!?!? I've got $2000 tied up in $1 chips? What the HELL was I thinking?

My Paulson colour sample set is not complete, so I do not know for sure. They don't quite match with what I got, so I don't want to guess.

Most of my Reno chips came from great guy and Reno resident @Davism72 , who made up a great story (that worked) to get $1 barrels from all over.
