So not exactly a strategy thread.

I keep waiting to see this happen. Sometime I will ask other people if they have ever seen it
when there is a possible broadway/wheel board runout. No one ever has.

Has anyone ever seen broadway versus a wheel on the same hand?

In PLO, sure. Seen it both chopped and scooped in PLO8 (KQ23 with a AJT45 board to scoop, for example).

Harder in Hold'em, but not impossible. Fewer hands containing two cards deuce through five are going to see a flop in the first place.

Forgot to mention I meant NLHE. Probably happens every day in Omaha:)
Probably more likely in Limit too since more, weaker draws can see the river.

For NLHE, basically everything has to go right. 2 players have to have hands with broadway/wheel draws,
then the board has to run out with EXACTLY 5 cards to make both hands....AND....
there will almost always have to be some kind of flush draw to keep the player with the runner-runner straight draw in the hand to see
the turn and river.....AND the flush draw has to miss. (a flush v broadway doesn't count.)

Still, if one guy can make a Royal and quads in one hand (see other thread), then Broadway-Wheel has to have happened somewhere:)

I've had it happen to me. It was a while ago, and I don't remember the action. He turned broadway, i rivered the wheel. He got more chips, I lost many

Yeah, it was something where he had limped with something like Q 10, and I was in the BB with 24. Flop came J K 3. I would assume the flop was checked, as I cannot imagine calling any bet on that flop. Turn was an A and river was the 5.

Fun times.

I also had it happen to me on the bad end. I think I flopped a flush draw only to make a wheel that was no good.

Rollin' on Broadway?
